I was here day the story broke about Ted Kennedy's cancer. For the most part, members were civil. Look at this boldface LIE, the last post on the bottom.

Anybody that would attempt to take away my freedom is my enemy. Period.
But if you have to have a list and since you sound like a stinkin' lefty lib, let's start with you............mate.
No, let me explain it to you: if you truly believe that the people on the Left in the US (ie the Democrats) are your *enemies* (ie someone who deserves to be killed by whatever means at your disposal) then someone needs to toss a butterfly net over you and take you into protective custody under preventative detention: you are a danger to yourself and everybody else in your immediate vicinity.
You're rather simple minded, aren't you, mate. You fight you enemies using various weapons that include debate, education, elections, public awareness and in the extreme, bullets.
then someone needs to toss a butterfly net over you and take you into protective custody under preventative detention: you are a danger to yourself and everybody else in your immediate vicinity.
Yep, you definitely sound like a North American liberal. I'm serious. How did you sneak onto FR?
There hasnt been a major US military presence in New Zealand for decades. Some of us like it that way
The worldwide presence of the United States of America and our willingness to do whatever it takes to protect our freedom has secured your freedom as an ally...........mate.
Furthermore, the last time I checked it has been over a century since the United States won a major war all by itself.
If the USA had stayed home in WWII, you and the rest of the world would be speaking German or Japanese.
More often than not, the US has enjoyed the help of countries like NZ, Australia, Canada,
So you show with a few dozen troops, a couple of airplanes and a jon boat. BFD. Your presence is merely a symbolic act to ensure that the USA will rescue your butts if the wolf comes knocking on your door.
No it wont. Not ever. Not even once. Not even in the Lefts wildest dreams or in your worst realistic nitemare.
Are you a decendent of Neville Chamberlain?
Like I said, you need to grab a big handful of proportionality, get a dose of reality: nobody is going to set up a Marxist Regime in the United States. It cannot happen. Your institutions do not permit that to happen.
You need to grab some reality. Our 'institutions' are being assaulted every day.
Millions of illegals are pouring across the border. We don't know who they are or what their objectives are but you can bet that they ain't all coming here to pick tomatoes. Also, certain areas of our country, particularly the border states and south Florida, are rapidly becoming balkanized, which is an assault on our 'institution'.
We have a congress critter named Maxine Waters that recently stated that the government should take over and run the oil companies. That's an assault.
Hillary Clinton has stated her Marxist visions on numerous occasions. Another assault.
We have lefty groups that are strong advocates of gun control and gun confiscation. That would be the ultimate assault.
But you can continue to live in your fantasy world. I'll continue to stay vigilant. (You going to advocate the butterfly net again?)
And if what you say aint cold
My point was, if you think that post was cold, then you're definitely too soft to live in most of the USA...........mate, though you might survive in, say, the San Francisco area where you would be amongst like minded people as yourself.
“Enemies are to be bayoneted or hanged or shot or killed by whatever means at your disposal, to the point of abject defeat and unconditional surrender and/or extermination.”
The left is going to force a war in this country and it’s going to come to that.
“And there are very very few if any people on the left in the United States or in New Zealand where I live who would qualify for the bayonet or the rope or a bullet.”
I can think of several Hundred off the top of my head that should be put up against a wall and shot, today.
Amen.

> But if you have to have a list and since you sound like a stinkin’ lefty lib, let’s start with you............mate.
OK tough guy. Except I don’t qualify: I asked you for a list of Democrats who deserve to die. I’m not a Democrat. Nor am I American. You may consider me your enemy (I’m not) and you may even want to kill me (you’re welcome to try) but that’s not what I asked you for. The List, remember?
So once again, put up or shut up. Mate.
> The worldwide presence of the United States of America and our willingness to do whatever it takes to protect our freedom has secured your freedom as an ally...........mate.
Then you really are as pig-ignorant as you sound. According to Colin Powell, New Zealand is NOT an “ally” of the US, but merely a very, very, very close friend.
Condoleeza Rice hasn’t changed that. We haven’t been your “ally” ever since we opted out of ANZUS.
Some of us — like me — would like closer relations with America. But, for now, that isn’t how things are. And it is unlikely to change anytime soon.
> If the USA had stayed home in WWII, you and the rest of the world would be speaking German or Japanese.
The US *did* stay home for almost half of the war, and played hooky between 1939 and 1942. The US only entered the war when Japan sucker-punched you at Pearl Harbor. It certainly wasn’t out of any sense of duty to the rest of the Allies — you know, the ones who fought the Germans and Japanese throughout.
Would we be speaking German or Japanese? I doubt it. But most of Europe would probably be speaking Russian, and most of Asia would probably be speaking Chinese.
> You’re rather simple minded, aren’t you, mate. You fight you enemies using various weapons that include debate, education, elections, public awareness and in the extreme, bullets.
No, we fight our enemies with Americans. /s
> Are you a decendent of Neville Chamberlain?
Are you a descendant of Adolf Hitler?
> Millions of illegals are pouring across the border. We don’t know who they are or what their objectives are but you can bet that they ain’t all coming here to pick tomatoes...
> ...I’ll continue to stay vigilant
You’ve had your Illegals problem since AT LEAST the mid-1970’s, throughout several GOP Presidential terms, including Reagan. You call *that* “vigilant?” If so, it’s your fault, and you are without excuse. It would be difficult to see how a Democrat administration could do any worse!
Sorry mate — I call ‘em like I see ‘em.
> We have lefty groups that are strong advocates of gun control and gun confiscation. That would be the ultimate assault.
I am in favor of the Second Amendment: indeed, I wish we had something similar. But I am not in favor of the Second Amendment being an absolute right. The idea of Mad Mary next door having a “constitutional right” to own a flame thrower leaves me cold. She *has* had the butterfly net thrown over her more than once.
A very large proportion of your population should never be permitted anywhere near guns — that much is plain.
> My point was, if you think that post was cold...
So we agree that you aren’t Cold, and that all of that is just tough-guy bravado talk.
That’s a shame — I’d have preferred to give you the benefit of the doubt: it’s better to be Cold than to be a blow-hard.
> Or a Japanese One either. Your welcome, mate.
I think our Lads were busy killing the Germans for you in North Africa and Italy and in the skies over France at the time, winning lots of medals and taking lots of casualties. Saved you the bother. You’re welcome, mate.
> I can think of several Hundred off the top of my head that should be put up against a wall and shot, today.
I would be most interested in knowing who...?
> The left is going to force a war in this country and it’s going to come to that.
Civil war, you mean? You could be right, but I doubt it. You’re more likely to face armed insurrection from your illegal aliens — and that is a problem that both the Left AND the Right have allowed to happen, over several decades.
Yup, even Reagan.
Like the Jefferson quote in your tag. I’d like to drop into conversation from time to time. I just need to know....is it accurate? a paraphrase? When did he say/write it?
Thanks.
I'm sure you would.
As to your help in WWII you were and continue to be a staunch allies. But like the British have a over rated sense of self worth. The fact is with out the United States you would be speaking Japanese and your English brethren would be babbling German. But think of the neat cars and radios you would get first crack at.
> But think of the neat cars and radios you would get first crack at.
(big grin!) We already do. New Zealand gets to try out all the new toys, often before they are released elsewhere.
And Kiwis love new toys.
We’re a small country (4 million only), reasonably affluent and reasonably well-educated: this makes us a perfect test-market for hi-tech and luxury goods.
> As to your help in WWII you were and continue to be a staunch allies. But like the British have a over rated sense of self worth.
You’ll find that’s probably just a visceral reaction to a good friend who never fails to remind us of their friendship, never fails to remind us of our ingratitude, and who never fails to take all the credit for what was truly a team effort — after showing up onto the field late.
Like the US, New Zealand, Australia and the UK also have Patriots. And when people attack us, we box our corner. And we punch way above our weight.
Is it resentment for what we did for you, or the guilt of knowing you coulldn’t do it yourself? Briton Australia New Zealand Canada are all further along the road to servitude than we.
There is One thing you and others might keep in mind though. If the day comes when the American people do have to rise up and take back their birthright. We may be to busy this time to save yours as well.
Well said..
> Is it resentment for what we did for you, or the guilt of knowing you coulldn’t do it yourself?
I don’t think it’s resentment or guilt: we certainly don’t resent you doing your fair share of the fighting in WW-II (albeit late), and we certainly have no feelings of guilt about sending our troops overseas rather than keeping them home to defend our islands.
I guess it is more like the polite-but-bored exasperation, of a “here-we-go-again, Uncle Sam boasting about how he won the War all by himself”.
As if the NZ/Australian/Canadian/British dead that litter the European and Pacific theaters never existed.
The sorry thing is that you lot seem to believe it. Yet it must be true, because you make movies about it.
> Briton Australia New Zealand Canada are all further along the road to servitude than we.
I hear that said all the time by Americans. I’ll believe it when you can secure your borders against foreign invasion and attack.
(crickets...)
In our case, we can (and sometimes do) secure our borders hermetically-sealed within an hour, and we can (and sometimes do) get rid of our aliens within a few days. And when terrorists visit us, our Police invariably catch them — sometimes red-handed — and throw their arses smartly into Mt Eden gaol.
Australia can do (and sometimes does) the same, except it takes them twice as long as us because they have a bigger country.
NZ does this while maintaining military responsibility for and presence in a patch of Pacific Ocean about the same size as the Continental USA, with an elite armed force supported by a population base no larger than Metropolitan Chicago. We cannot afford “big” so we invest in quality.
And we live a lifestyle that most folks in the US can only dream about.
If that’s “servitude”, then you really don’t know what you’re missing!
> There is One thing you and others might keep in mind though. If the day comes when the American people do have to rise up and take back their birthright. We may be to busy this time to save yours as well.
If that day ever comes we will probably be too busy saving our own birthright to worry too much about what the Americans are doing.
I was lurking and saw Admin Moderator get offered some pizza after all the work. Some here don’t get it. FR is not for sale.
It’s called “projecting.” Don’t let it get to you.
Best of luck, see you in the history books..
“This person is giving us a compliment, actually: saying that we have too much class to stand evil comments about even our political enemy when hes taken ill.”
I agree.
The most conservative website had to shut down a forum because THEY WERE REPULSED by what was being posted about a liberal.
> Best of luck, see you in the history books..
Mate, it is far, far too early for you to be writing America off and consigning yourselves to History. Nevermind what the Left says, America still has a future.
Toughen up a bit, and with a help of your good friends overseas, like New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the UK, you will see this current crisis thru. All is not lost yet — not by a very long shot.
We’ll leave the dustbin of History for the Bad Guys, ay.
Trust me.
