I was a kid growing up in the SLO area when Pirates Cove opened. I had no idea it was still around. I remember my sister talking about riding with a group along the bluffs overlooking the cove and she laughed because the guide made sure they went by it going out and back. According to her, the guide leaned way out off his horse to get a better look. If I remember correctly, there was also a death because a guy fell off the bluffs while trying to get a better view.
