I’m 5’5 at 110lbs ... I carry a Beretta Tomcat in .32cal with Glaser Safeties in one magazine and the other has Hydra-shocks. I’m not to be messed with. I read where the average gun fight range was 8 to 12 feet (California Highway Patrol research) - at that range it doesn’t matter if you have 357 magnums or what I carry ... at least mine won’t go down the block and take out an innocent .....

I would never finger the trigger of my .45 in defense until I knew it was my only option of survival and at that time it wouldn't cross my mind what was behind my immediate threat to my life.

It would stop the threat however.

I'm 6'2" @ 200lbs. which helps though...

For what it is worth...I once convinced 8 guys to leave me alone with my S&W 22/32 kit gun. Yes, it was just a .22 with only 6 rounds - but no one wanted to be first. Since I had fired thousands of rounds thru it, I wasn’t likely to miss...so they made a good decision.

Study up on frangible ammunition. That’s what I carry. It won’t go through someone but it will make four blood paths for the doctors to sew up, if they can keep the thug alive that long.
