... I didnt always agree with or even always like the characters or some of the choices they made Is your "didn't always" more than or less than 10%?
The show and the movie wasnt really about sex...
Right! They could have left Sex out of the title and just called it "And the City".
... about the close and sometimes difficult and sometimes brutally honest but long lasting and supportive relationships that women have with one another as they go through the many stages and joys and some mistakes of life dating, career, marriage, children, infertility, infidelity, divorce, illness, menopause, reconciliation
.
Maybe I would like to see it after all... at one of those places with food and cocktails and of course, someone else picking up the tab.
The raunchy and boastful conversations that men have in the locker room have nothing on the casual but very honest conversations that women can have with each other over a sandwich and salad at Panera Bread.
Holy #^%! I am dialing the corporate headquarters of Panera Bread as I write this post. (Chicks don't have a corner on the multi-task market.)
The last scene in the move ends in a simple greasy spoon diner
What about the sushi?
In the end, husbands and family and good friends are more important than the clothes or really great hand bags or shoes or fabulous penthouse apartments.
Wow... So, it really is a deep movie after all. I should probably stop making fun of it.
Na.

Lol! Nice to know someone who shares my picky tastes. Hollywood was so much better when classy ladies and gentlemen graced the silver screen with REAL talent! (and no, Im not an old geezer!!) ;) Me neither. But, as I was saying to Mildred, movies ain't been the same since they went to Talkies.

I went for the fashion show and stayed for the nude profile of the neighbor at the Malibu house. I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds interesting.

Limbaugh is at it once again trying to pretend he is being original when this came from Michael Savage originally about a week or so ago. Then I guess copying someone is considered the best form of flattery. When I heard Limbaugh say, horse face that was the dead give away. I'm pretty sure that both Savage and Limbaugh and ripped me off on that one... Me, and maybe a couple million other guys who had the same reaction.

I dont hate it but it makes women look unfit to do much besides buy shoes and audition for bordello employment. It didnt empower diddly
You're right. I don't want to give too much away here. But, things do not end well for Diddly.

Because SJP is a horsefaced liberal? Because the scripts could have been written by a computer program? Because all the characters on the show (not just the men) are cardboard cutouts?

I agree....not even close. Seriously though... May I be serious for just a minute? No. Probably not. But, I'll try.
I enjoy silent films, Buster Keaton was not only a genius, but a great stunt man. Netfix has been a great way to see the full range of classics.
I've been on John Ford kick lately. What an artist!

Ann Coulter’s take on SITC is that it isn't really about women, but about Gay men. She said NYC women don't talk and act like the SITC characters in real life, but Gay men in NYC do.

would never watch anything with such a title.
It certainly does have urbane connotations.
I recommend "Sex and the Country".

It’s sort of like duplicate threads on FR — one can’t be on here 24 hrs consecutively, nor listen to all the decent analysis on radio either.

Thank you. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a silent movie.... I feel like I’m missing out. Now I know what I’ll be doing this weekend. :)
