Jeff Peckman is a 54-year-old who lives with his parents, promotes technology that supposedly creates harmony by manipulating electromagnetic fields and is behind an initiative to form a commission on extraterrestrials in Denver.
"He's less ahead of his time if you put him in Boulder," ... "He's more ahead of his time in downtown Denver."
Peckman is derided, dismissed and deemed a doofus ...
His projects - everything from technology called brain fingerprinting to an Oregon ballot initiative to label genetically engineered food ...
In 2003, Peckman championed Initiative 101, which would have required the city to promote peacefulness. The campaign cost $2,000, and the initiative lost - with a respectable 32 percent of the vote.
Peckman first popped into the public eye in 1998, when his name was put on the ballot as the U.S. Senate candidate for the Natural Law Party, a now-defunct group based on the Maharishi's teachings.
His Initiative 101 was dubbed "Safety through Peace."
Depite being ridiculed and misunderstood, the initiative got more than 28,000 votes.
Peckman wrote Measure 27, a 2002 Oregon initiative that would have required the labeling of genetically engineered food. Although it lost, it was endorsed by Paul McCartney, Consumers Union and others.
Peckman is confident that his latest initiative not only will get on the ballot but will pass...

Several years ago I stumbled across the Disclosure project by accident. It got me interested enough to buy the testimonial video.
One night I sat my hubby down with a beer and gently asked him to look at the video for me. I told him that most of it looked credible to me, but a lot of these guys were claiming to be military and I needed his opinion. (He’s the Army MI guy, so I figured he’d be better able to give me an unbiased look.)
Now this guy is a very grounded fellow. Agnositc, has NO interest in anything “weird”, reads history books instead of novels, doesn’t believe in Psychic Friends, pet whisperers, or alternative medicine. So coldly logical that it drives me nuts sometimes. His greatest flight of fancy involves dreaming about a fully equipped wood shop.
He cracked open his beer, rolled his eyes out of his head, sighed deeply and settled back in his chair with a growl. “Ten minutes is all you get for this crap.”
Well, ten minutes in he was leaning forward in his chair with great interest. He sat silently for almost two hours and watched every word, every nuance of body language.
After it was over, he mulled it over for a bit then said, (to paraphrase... it’s been a long time) “Most of those guys were military. Most of them truly believe that what they say is true. They are about as credible as a witness can get. The chick at the end is a certifiable fruit-bat.”
He told me that he didn’t necessarily believe that there are aliens flying around in UFO’s, but he did believe that these people witnessed something which was very difficult to explain in any other way. He said that this video came very close to convincing him that there was something going on and all it would take is one piece of physical evidence to seal the deal. “Very, very interesting.”
He then flipped the channel to a WWII documentary and drank another beer.
All I’m saying is that it’s worth taking a good look at before dismissing out of hand.
Do *I* believe that there are aliens flying around in spaceships? I honestly don’t know, but I do know that something is flying which I don’t fully understand. (My mother and I both saw something in Wyoming which blew our minds.) I wouldn’t be surprised if *we* had secret craft which could do some remarkable stuff. I also wouldn’t be surprised if there were ET’s which had taken an interest in a developing species such as ourselves. Something curious is going on.
Like my hubby, I need more evidence as to the nature of the pilots, but I now have an open mind on the subject.

I received the following today in a newsletter email from the Disclosure Project:
“ANNOUNCEMENT
DR. STEVEN GREER AND THE DISCLOSURE PROJECT
DENVER PRESENTATION
WEDNESDAY JULY 9, 2008
7:30 PM
Steven M. Greer MD, the founder and director of The Disclosure Project (www.DisclosureProject.org) will be in Denver CO on July 9, 2008 at Turnhalle in the Tivoli.
Dr. Greer will be presenting a summary of over 500 government, military, intelligence and corporate witnesses to UFO events and projects and will be discussing the implications of the issue. Dr. Greer, who has personally briefed heads of state, members of Congress, a sitting CIA Director and other senior government officials on the UFO matter will provide an overview of the subject and expose the reasons behind the continuing secrecy.
Key to this secrecy is the existence of Unacknowledged Special Access Projects (USAPs) that operate outside of Presidential and Congressional oversight and that are beholden to special interests in the corporate, financial and energy sectors.
The energy and propulsion systems used by so-called UFOs (or extraterrestrial vehicles) has been studied for over 60 years using taxpayer funds and the disclosure of this vital information would completely replace the need for oil, gas, coal and nuclear power.
Dr. Greer states that In light of the growing energy and environmental crisis, it is imperative that the people of the United States know the truth and work to see that full Disclosure occurs as soon as possible. The mistake of classifying as top secret this information in the 1940s and 1950s has now resulted in a genuine world emergency that requires the thoughtful attention of every concerned citizen.
Mr. Jeff Peckman, who is heading up the Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission Denver ballot initiative, will also be present and make a brief presentation on that project.
The presentation is open to the media and public.
A nominal admission fee of $5.00 will be collected to cover expenses.

That's a nice post, kjo. Applies to a lot more than just UFOs. I think if people want to deny UFOs, that's fine with me. I dread the day (which I hope is a long way off) they don't have a choice. There's irony when I see the "I want to believe!" graphics. It's too easy and -- having read Gordo Cooper's autobio, too rational -- to see the same graphic "I don't want to believe!" ala War of the Worlds.
That's the crux of it. WWB, let Quix be Quix. You go ahead in your thinking, that's fine, we know you absolutely entirely dismiss any and all of it, and that's fine by me, though I disagree -- and so what if Quix thinks as he does, relax, and enjoy the thread, for Pete's sake? *sheesh* You know, really, in your way, you're tormenting him.
By the way, I LOVE the pic of your big standard poodle. If I was going to have a big dog, that would be the one. He looks good. Now, that tells me you have a right heart. Just let Quix be Quix!
Having only read this far into your post, I can see that your husband married a wonderful woman!
Thanks Much
[I think! LOL]
Alas, doesn’t matter . . . Quix has this pesky habit of being Quix regardless of what naysayers do or say.
And part of that orneriness is tweaking them back. LOL.
[slaps fingers]
Poodles are a lot smarter than I thought I’d think they were.
I’m still partial to Lassie type collies. But poodles don’t shed—much less in great big clumps! LOL.
Here’s a UTUBE VIDEO that another FREEPER Sent the link of re the famous Iranian case during the Shah’s reign.

Word warrior bob's home page has some great photos of the big standard poodle to which I refer, and in my admittedly limited experience, those are consistently very cool dogs with nice temperaments and lots of smarts. Very different from the yappy obnoxious high-strung pansy little poodles my great aunties and granny owned by the dozens. Nothing to do with this topic, I know, but I figure Bob's got to be an okay dude. Every one of those big poodles I've ever "met" (and that's what it's like) are dignified, sedate, and intelligent, and it always reflects on their owners.
With a guy like Bob, I respect his desire and penchant to think as he does about the UFO question (I just wish he would have the same approach regarding your own views and have the grace to keep some opinions to himself). Sometimes a person knows his own limitations. You and I have sort of broached this topic before, only on the flip side. I told you of how my sweetheart's technical precepts were turned upside down after visual confirmation of a saucer, how the thing that troubled him the most was that either he lied to himself about what he'd seen or accepted the fact that a lot of the technical precepts with which he'd viewed the world were out the window -- and they were, from that moment on. It's pretty challenging mentally to deal with that. Remember that too for Bob, and Bob, remember that for Quix. Just my two cents. Love belongs on this thread.
Thank you! *I* agree with you! lol!
(I took him to Home Depot a couple of months ago and told him that, when he retires [in 3 years] he'd get $5000 to spend on tools. He spent hours making a list! Then he took me out to dinner! lol!)
Interesting stuff Quix. Thank you for the links.
I do agree with the argumentative fellow in one regard - there are many weirdos in the field and many who are willing to take advantage of the gullible. There’s a lot of fascinating info out there, but one must be careful.
Wise words.
Very wise words.
ACTUALLY, DEAR HEART . . . the trauma of that paradigm shift is a major reason I keep hammering away with these threads.
I PREFER THAT BELOVED FREEPERS NOT KEEL OVER OF A HEART ATTACK when the thing hits daily CNN news with what the Bible describes as THE GREAT DECEPTION of the END TIMES.
However, I can only do what I can do. Many will still die from fear . . . or worse . . . from disillusioned hopelessness in terms of anything substantive that they have known about “reality” before.
Things REALLY ARE getting increasingly cocked and prepared to wholesale change and in a flash. I figure it will be hard for some to even know which way is up and which is down.
People have no idea the level of existential and other angst and chaos that’s ahead.
Preparing mentally ahead of time is a minimum degree of wisdom.
What a wise woman.
And blessed hubby.
Just so his workshop is not too far from the fridge and you!
Oh, I agree with THAT! LOL.
But that’s partly by design. It’s helped protect the info for decades.
GROSS.
Warnings should be included with such links! Sheesh.
And migraine meds.
Yes. I thought a lot of leading Harvard psychiatrist John Mack and his work.
I often wondered how co-opted he’d been into the deceptions involved in the whole ET scenarios stuff. But he was a quality researcher who put a lot of high evel analysis into the field. He is missed.
I’m glad to see his Institute survives.
