Well, my wireless icon now says that the signal is very good and yet I keep getting a page cannot be displayed message when trying to connect.
I manually put in my IP address because if it's automatic it shows as a 169 IP.

That’s exactly the problem I was having. The IP address is 169.254.x.x. Which is a private IP address. What I did was put in an IP address, DNS server, and gateway addresses, and rebooted. Then I went back and set everything back to Automatic to automatically populate the IP address and it worked. Who knows why....
