9000. And a 17” screen if that is important.
My computer died on me back in Papua. It would not boot. I finally located a local place there and they got it going again. But last week it stopped booting again.
So, I took it in to a repair place here and they told me the mother board died.
Well during the interim in Papua, between the time it died and the time I found the repair shop, a less competant repair shop sold me a kit whereby they inserted the hard drive inside a casing and I connected it up to a computer (actually several) via a USB port. But alas, I thought the problem was solved and so I left that casing behind.
So, the repair shop today - here in the US - told me to get that enclosure kit and it would read my hard drive enough to back up the data. However, I am not quite sure what I’m getting. There seem to be several to chose from. I have found something on Amazon which looks like it might work but as I was reading the technical stuff there was no mention of a dongle connecting via any port much less a USB. AAAAaach!
Also, why could the shop in Papua get the machine to boot and not the group here? I’m thinking I’ll take it back in January and that shop could work on it again. Any thoughts on this?
One nice thing about the shop today. The gentleman very kindly offered to show me where my hard drive was located. I pointed out to him that I have that, at least, figured out.
