Take care ma’am....we are here for you.
Thank you, Dog.
It is not so much overwhelming, altho it probably should be. What it is is just gut wrenching. So many people in need of help, and too proud to seek it. So much property lost. Lives on hold and Livelihoods lost. Farmland underwater, crops lost, soil washed down the river.
The sun will shine again.
Our ancestors did not cross mountains on foot, walking beside wagons because they were wimps. They did not cut trees with an ax to build their own shelter because they were wimps. And they would roll in their graves if we let this take us down.
We’ll suck it up, and clean it up, without waiting for someone to come do it for us. We will help each other, and we’ll do it ourselves.
We just have to get over the initial shock of it all and move onto the next phase.
BIRTHDAY!!
I hope your area is not in the flooding in Indiana.
Are you still safe? My prayers are going up for the victims of the tornado last night.
Prayers going up for your niece. That is a hard age.
I’m glad you are prepared. I have a 72 hour kit. It has the basic necessities of life in it for 3 days. Plus I have added my Bible, several books, and some needlework. I think the thing I am most afraid of is boredom. LOL. I could just see myself sitting in a church or stadium somewhere with nothing to do. I’d go batty.
I’ve also seen the clear plastic plates that have a pattern “engraved” in the middle of the plate (like roses.) If you can find a party store, you can also get platters that look like silver, but are plastic. I was actually surprised when my sister showed them to me and said they weren’t real.
We have a couple of party stores here but they’re not as well stocked as you describe. I’m going to go to Columbus or Birmingham.
And where are all the outraged feminists mounting a hue and cry over this? Crickets...
Do you still have questions about your computer?
Yes he did. He also had the Brown Shirts and SS who loved him dearly.
Re: oil prices. I heard over Memorial Day that Americans drove 11% less this year than last. And yet the prices still went up... Kind of shoots a hole in the theory of if you don’t drive, the prices will drop.
I’ve had a low connectivity icon for the last week. When I was out of town, I tried putting my wireless card in and never could get it to work. Then when I got home, I still couldn’t get it to work. It is a defect in Windows XP SP2 (gee, what a surprise.) There’s a whole bunch of workaround for it, if I get one to work, I will let you know. I’ve called AT&T (my wireless carrier), Comcast (my ISP), and Microsoft (waste of time.)
If you have any ideas as to what we could do to get it to boot, please share them. I’ve tried everything John suggested and he appears to feel that it is hopeless.
Jem, some women even had hitler’s name tatooed on their boobs so when they wore their dirndils with the scooped neck, the name “hitler showed”. They were nutty over him.
It shoots a big hole in that theory.
We need to increase our supply by drilling in our own territories and with the increased supply the price will drop. Very quickly.
We haven’t gotten that bad about Nobama yet. But I’m afraid that is where this is headed.
We are in big trouble.
Too bad you’re not out West. We have a great party store named Zurcher’s. And a paper store named XPEDX. Between those 2 stores, I can get anything and everything to decorate for parties. Have you hit the dollar stores? Sometimes they have stuff that will work. Good luck.
Oh. And when my sister got married, she got a lot of her table arrangements off Ebay. As well as her wedding dress... It was $44.00, unfortunately from China. It was beautiful. She was beautiful in it. I’ll never forget her wedding day and how happy they were. I spent hours steaming the wrinkles out of the dress for her. Good memories...
Unfortunately, he gave you all my ideas. When you get your new computer, make a system restore CD. I’ve had that work when the computer won’t boot up. It does take you back to a previous image, but that is better than not being able to use your computer. :(
