Yea! The Weekend is finally here! PING!

It's not quite officially summer yet but temps here where I live are going into the mid 90’s and very humid this weekend and it feels more like mid July or August than early June. (Not a Global Warming Ping – I actually like it hot).

Speaking of music, WRKP is on WGN on DirecTV channel 307 RIGHT NOW - the Turkey bit is playing. I think they have altered the soundtrack to get past all the clearance problems they had.

Well I am not sure why the earlier thread was pulled but after three days of cold, raw weather here in New England, we are about to go up into the 90s starting tomorrow.

In honor of the first HOT weekend of the year, I would like to present Hot Summer Nights by Night.

Now not many people will remember this song but it got heavy airplay in the Boston area during the summer of 1979. That was a special summer for me. I was just 17 years old and had gotten my driver's license that year and I drove up and down Revere Beach that summer on HOT SUMMER NIGHTS with the windows rolled down in my father's car. Had lots of fried clams at Kelly's Roast Beef and this song (along with "My Sharona") seemed to be blasting out of every radio speaker all that summer long.

The Eagles was a fine band, but the Eaglets put out some fine solo efforts. Joe Walsh is my favorite, but here is some Don.

Don Henley - Dirty Laundry (1993 BJ Clinton Inauguration!)

Don Henley - Driving With Your Eyes Closed

Don Henley - All She Wants To Do Is Dance

One of the best concerts I ever attended: Stan Getz and Grover Washington, Jr at the Hollywood Bowl. Sadly they are both deceased now.

You actually reported yourself for “abuse”? I'm so very sorry! I checked all the recent posts but I really didn't see your thread. We must have posted nearly simultaneously! But it was bound to happen sooner or later since we sort of informally take turns. I thought of sending you a Freepmail to check in first but didn’t - So My Bad!

I'll see your Emmy and raise you an Allison

the only song I've heard that sounds better live than on the CD. Her voice makes me want to marry her....and her eyes and her face.... ah heck... I think she's just beautiful...

I remember that song very well, it got heavy air play in Northern Indiana as well. We got soaked here in Cincinnati and now have been in the 90's for the past two days. Turned on the AC today for the first time this year... should sleep very nicely tonight! Only two weeks until Summer... geez, what happened to Spring?
