The Republic is Almost Done. Now Where?
VetsCoR ^ | 6/5/08 | A Navy Vet

Posted on 06/05/2008 11:25:11 PM PDT by A Navy Vet

The Republic of the United States of America is just about finished.

If Obama controls the Oval Office then our Republic will be destroyed from inane socialist policies from within.
If McCain controls the Oval Office then our Republic may also die from within due to his appeasement to Liberals. He MAY fight the good fight oversees, but he has little interest in maintaining our Constitutional Heritage state-side...witness the McCain/Feingold limitiations on 1st Amendment rights. Also, witness McCains position on the Shamnesty Bills he has tried to push through last years against the huge outcry of regular citizens.

Obama believes he has the understanding of our internal difficulties, but has little experience with international problems.

McCain has little understanding of internal problems (as he has admitted), but has the background to deal with the international threats.

We are doomed either way. From within or from without, the US will be facing its biggest challenges since our biginning days.

So what say you? Which political position would you fight for? Or are you even willing to fight? Choose well, because the end is coming, mark these words. And if you care anything about your country, you will have to chose sides.

God bless you, keep you safe, but be prepared to fight for what the Founding Fathers believed to be your inherent rights. Stand by...

Veterans for Constitutional Restoration (VetsCoR).

Start putting your hope in God, not Washington.

Meh I don’t think its that bad yet. If Obama gets in I will say stick a fork in it though.

I won’t have much respect for my country if we elect Obama.

Naw. McCain’s no worse a RINO than Nixon or Ford, and better in some respects.

Don’t get carried away.

Just work so Obama doesn’t get in there. McCain can be dealt with.

The Republic isn;t done yet.

Our Luke Skywalker should be on the horizon after the elections and his name is Bobby Jindal.

If our country;s done for, the inevitable cause of action is the Civil War.

Most of the worms who bitch about Bush will miss him in due course.

His resolve since 9/11 has been a refreshing change from the preening politics of the Clinton years and the upcoming Obama/McCain battle of the libs.

Some nations in east Asia are already hooking up with each other and are developing nukes for their new friends. Neither civilians nor REMFs will prepare us for that because of their favored constituents’ fears about oil prices and foreign trade.

We need another Patton as CiC, IMO, and more power to domestic manufacturing constituents. We need a will to fight.

Not true. An Obama presidency will mean that a real conservative will be elected in 2012. His first act will be to roll back the fiasco that will be nationalized health care. Then he will work to restore the military.

Best case is we get McQueeg elected but hold onto enough power in the senate and house to disallow passage of amnesty or global-warming socialist/fascist bills. In 2010 we should be able to take the Senate back, maybe the house as well.

Sad to see this Republic falling apart. Collapsing dollar and all the politicians want to do is raise taxes, spend more, and continue ridiculous and stupid policies that they have no Constitutional authority to do.

The war we are now engaged in is a direct result of the Carter WH. If RWR couldn’t clean up that mess sufficiently to prevent so many deaths, how do you expect anyone to clean up after Obama’s capitulation to Islamic tyrants and socialists around the world? Socialism is like crack addiction, you’re better off never trying it because getting off it can be deadly.

Your view is curiously similar to a number of people's views regarding remarriage, to wit:

''The triumph of hope over experience.''

I just finished reading a second bio of the life and times of Alexander Hamilton....the more American history I read, the more confident I am that our political system is as corrupt yet not as chaotic as it ever was...with similar arguments, intrigue, political cheap shots and unwarranted hysteria consuming both parties. Top it all off with a blatantly biased media and nothing much has changed.

GWB has endured no greater or worse treatment than Adams, Jefferson or others have incurred.

if Obama get in we will change the way we keep our own money and give more to the government, in turn the government will change the way it spends the money, changing more programs to pretend to change the world into utopia, when we find out that utopia can’t be achieved we will change the meaning of the word utopia, to mean a world in which all modern technologies powered by energy is bad, we will change from cars back to horse and carts. Change, we will change the laws for partial birth abortions, we will change the way we define the word cannibalism, not to include harvesting embryos for stem cells, so the Hollywood stars can live longer to make more movies, and they in turn can keep changing their faces with face lifts, we will change what we watch too, diversity will be required so that nobody with a European heritage will be allowed a lead role unless they are supported by at least two citizens from Indonesia and one from, any other third world country bankrupted by morality , even if it means we have to change that all movies come with subtitles to understand what they are saying , but not to worry nobody will be able to read the subtitles, because obamas people will change the way education is run, handing out more money that won’t end up for the kids to teach them to read or write, but we can change that it is spent on sex education, and change more government to given to administrators pockets. We can also change words too, a church will no longer be a word that means where people go to worship God, but now its a place for politics, and hate mongering, we can change the definition of word terrorists too, so that if somebody attacks the pentagon, they are not terrorists, they are professors. Change, change, we need more change so that we can change the word change to mean anything that starts as good and gets screwed up, change means that the word good means bad and cold now is hot, and white is now black, or of color or whatever the changed term is for today.

Fine. What’s worst case? What’s medium case? Not that I’m challenging you to provide specific answers, but this stuff is alarming me. I am trying to resist the very pessimistic view expressed in the original post on this thread. Cause I could go there easily. Actually, I appreciate your optimism. I wish I could share it.
