Was reading Proverbs this morning......
Proverbs 24: 21-22:
"My son, fear the LORD and the king; Do not associate with those who are given to change, For their calamity will rise suddenly, And who knows the ruin that comes from both of them?"
Hum........."Change"...."Calamity"....."Both of Them"??????
Barak & Michael????????????????
I adopted Proverbs as “my book” a long time ago. While I had read that scripture many times, I had not see that context before. Thank you for pointing it out.
What is your interpretation here?
I believe that the reference to those prone to change
is a parallel to the foolish man who builds his “house” upon sand (proven failures of collectivism)
as opposed to the wise man that builds his “house” upon the Rock (God’s Word).
Dittos!
The word “change” in Hebrew means
haw-naw’
A primitive root; to fold, that is, duplicate (literally or figuratively (); by implication to transmute (transitively or intransitively): - do (speak, strike) again, alter, double, (be given to) change, disguise, (be) diverse, pervert, prefer, repeat, return, do the second time.
Revolutionaries like Obama, Mugabe, Castro, Lenin, Mao, and yes Hitler will cry out for radical change out of some good-seeming purpose, but where it leads is straight to hell.
