JT needs some help. The paperwork guy in his unit isn’t processing the paperwork needed to get his student loans repaid. This is part of JT’s contract. JT has taken the issue to the upline once or twice. They told him to take it back to the paperwork person. It is still not done and the payments are supposed to begin in August.

What else can he do? To whom should he appeal this issue? Any advice?

Just an aside, JT just told me he got stiffed with his travel voucher by about $1000 because the voucher was not filled out correctly by that same paper processor person. The voucher was filled out about 4 times before it was processed AT ALL.

Help!

He can take it to an ombudsman if there is one available , take it up his chain, or if push really comes to shove, he can take it to the IG.

I wouldn't waste my time with the ombudsmun.

Tell JT that Granny said to call both of his U.S, Senators and his Congresscritter. They have people on staff who battle the bureacracy on constituent's behalf everyday.

JT should be sure to mention the $1000 shortfall on the travel expenses. The men and women fighting the war on terror should not be expected to pay their own travel. Good Grief.

I would take this problem to the lst Sgt, then/or the Commander of his unit, if that fails to bring a resolution, I’d go to the IG. The NG operates a bit differently than the regulars, I know, but this is serious. Also, as an old admin spec, I’d make copies of everything I had to hand in for reimbursement.
