My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Why, then, was the ride interesting?

Very much so. The ride to the hospital was discussed. I told her that she was a “worry wart” and if we ran out of gas, she would have had to thumb it to the hospital.

I must have a “Guardian Angel” watching over me. Another prank on a different wife was when she wasn’t feeling well. After 3 days in bed and letting the house go, I called her and told her that I was bring the boss home for dinner. She hadn’t been up or to the store previously to that point. When I arrived at home the house was spotless and a graet dinner was prepared. She asked when my boss was coming. I told her that he had cancelled shortly after my conversation with her about it. Dinner was delicious as I dined alone and enjoyed a clean house.

I told her the next day to consider it as therapy, afterall she did get out of bed and didn’t think about how badly she felt.

Not to the hospital, from the hospital. What made the ride home from the hospital interesting?

I told her that the trauma was over and that we both had survived it. It was at my sons wedding 30 years later that I told her about the spare gas in the can. She called me an unmentionable name. LOL

Oh! I thought you meant the ride home right after her Caesarian, at which time you would have been alone.

On the way home I called herr a worry wart and that there was nothing to worry about. She would have gotten to the hospital even if she thumbed it. We had to think of the baby of course.
