My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good morning, everyone!
Muse
When, in the night, I wait for her, impatient,
Life seems to me, as hanging by a thread.
What just means liberty, or youth, or approbation,
When compared with the gentle piper's tread?
And she came in, threw out the mantle's edges,
Declined to me with a sincere heed.
I say to her, "Did you dictate the Pages
Of Hell to Dante?" She answers, "Yes, I did."
- Anna Akhmatova

In The Night She Hears You
She sleeps, or pretends too,
yet listening to the words out of the night.
She hears them, discern some, others without a clue,
shape her thoughts be they good, or right.
She lies there, hearing the words that were saved,
saved until she was in bed, so they could be said.
Words that hint at problems, now these are engraved,
and she perceives them, not understanding the inner dread.
Sounds of pain, and anger too, and silences that cut deep,
she lays there and weeps, unsure what to do, or say.
A child in confusion, left behind and so afraid to weep,
loving those who argue, wanting only good this day.
Parents never understand that children hear it all,
and hurt along with you in ways that they can not define.
Take the time to hear it from the viewpoint of a child small,
perhaps youll learn a lesson, theres more here then just thine!

Very moving poem, so true. It’s in the Anthology! Was there working just now.

We all get those days, here’s an ode to them!
Lost My Marbles
They said Id lost my marbles, but I know that was false of course,
cause I can still hop on one foot, naked, and yell out Bats, Bats, Bats!
See it works, for there none around, Id see them from my hobby horse,
as I ride down the hall here at the institute, herding all the tinfoil cats.
Im as sane as anyone, just ask the inmates here for proof,
for most of them are well known, why we even have Napoleon here.
One day they said my life got to me and my mind just went poof,
but I just checked in to get new crayons and nap all afternoon, my dear.
Dont let it get you down that Im now safely locked in here,
cause now I have more time to watch for flying things.
Theyre dropping bombs filled with warm root beer,
and its getting hard to hear my home phone in the distance ring!

Now that was funny, political sniping in poetry has a bite!

pay homage to Erato for she plays her flute long into the night her music as sweet as the fragrance of her crown of roses the muse of love poetry her inspiration lays in waiting for the poet's repertory

LOL, I wrote those in "Word For The Day", here at FR, then copied them into the Lair, well my ego is such that I thought they belonged in the Anthology. ;-0)

Oh I love this poem and graphic, I think I am she! LOL
