To the Ladies!
Devotions on a Silken Plain
She moves, limed in sweat shine under the silver light of the moon,
in her rhythmic devotions to the ever eternal Goddess of Love.
Fierce as a leopard, yet delicate as the smallest dove,
she encompasses the span of human need, burning again, all too soon.
Soul fire dances along the edges of oh so sensitive nerves,
and she shivers at the return touch of anothers need.
Demanding her moment, writhing like a storm tossed reed,
until she tumbles over the edge of the inner abyss in sudden curves.
Her cry is so like the cry of a lost soul, yet too, it holds joy shell keep,
as she harvests the moments like golden treasures to lay away.
Her devotions over, she falls back to another reality, mortal clay,
and holding onto the wonders she has collected, she fades into sleep.
I hold her close, and let the moments passed, wring her empty of stress,
watching her slip into sleep, that gentle smile on her lovely face.
I smile too, for I love the way she looks in such delicate wisps of lace,
at peace, at rest, at least until we must rise and finally have to dress.
A Steak
Its big, a slab of real beef raw,
red, and well marbled as it should be,
cut to my specification, tender still.
I marinate it in my secret sauce all night,
letting its magic seep within the steak,
and I grin in anticipation of tomorrow.
I checked the coals and liked what I saw,
and enjoyed the moment for I did see,
the steak laid gentle on the grill.
The sauces bubbled and sizzled oh so right,
the smell is ambrosia I swear an oath to take,
and my veggie neighbor moaned in sorrow.
Seared and turned with loving care in awe,
pure perfection is being created before me,
and soon I will sit and eat my joyous fill.
I sit here, stuffed, grinning into the night,
lost in the revelry of juicy meat dishes I make,
even as my once veggie neighbor my grill borrows.
Trikes BBQ Sauce
This is a barbecue sauce recipe using a good Kentucky bourbon whiskey.
For best results, refrigerate sauce for a day or two, allowing the flavors to blend.
For best flavor, marinate the meat in this sauce before cooking, searing to hold in
the juices and really drive the flavor into the meat.
Ingredients
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup tomato paste
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 onion, minced
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons liquid smoke flavoring (if you cant get this, let me know)
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/3 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, or to taste
3/4 cup bourbon whiskey (the rest of the whiskey goes in the cook as required)
1/3 cup cider vinegar (you can blend cider and vinegar to get the bite you like, experiment a bit)
2 cups ketchup
1/2 tablespoon salt
Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the onion, garlic, and whiskey.
Simmer for 10 minutes, or until onion is translucent.
Mix in the ground black pepper, salt, ketchup, tomato paste, vinegar, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and hot pepper sauce.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Run sauce through a strainer if you prefer a smooth sauce.
Devotions on a Silken Plain
Well, you steam up the Lair at supper time, then post a recipe for steak! Hilarious.
Love both of the posts.
