thank you for showing us Mahler, was just listening to his 5th symphony, conducted by Georg Solti with the CSO which for me is the best interpretation.
I love his symphony no. 4 also, his most classical. Mahler’s music has made me cry many times.
Please keep me on your ping. Thanks.

I look forward to the portraits posted on our classical music threads. They put a human element into the works I hear by famous composers when their images flash into my mind while listening.

A couple weeks ago, a photo of Puccini was posted. He looked like a real dandy....and a hottie, LOL.

I never imagined I'd see all these composers as they looked in their day. For a classical music lover such as moi, it's a thrill to view them.

I can't help but loving FR. It's a window to the world....past and present!

Oh, you are so correct. I love this place.

And it's a great place to honor and celebrate our military men and women, our veterans and families and friends who sacrifice so much for our way of life. That's what it's all about.

As far as the pictures go, I hope you understand that I don't know the difference between a hottie, or not.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the music.

Mahler is my fave composer. I just heard Symphony no. 2 in concert last month. It was flooring and my fiancee was making fun of me for tearing up a little.

Haydn is the Man. The Creation is awesome. I love all his symphonies, too. I especially enjoy the Farwell, the Bear, the Hen, the Miracle, the Clock, and Military.

Oh well, I mean them all!
