When I was a child I received a little vial of Orange Blossom perfume nestled in a small wooden figurine doll from Florida..Travel in those days was rare..It was the Great Depression time..I still have the little figurine. It was an exotic gift to this little girl.
.
Awww..Not close! ;o)
Mine is all wood with the vial inside, hidden..It is plain unpainted wood with a long bell “skirt” and a wooden bonnet on the head..old fashioned. It isn’t fine but it was special enough for me to hold onto..
I kept nothing from my childhood..In those days one gave toys away to younger relatives or family friends or to the church to distribute when we were through with them. This was small and not a toy so it stayed.
I saved the Hershey bar wrapper from a rare treat given to me during WW2..We couldn’t buy chocolate candy then so it was a real treat...The family friend that gave it to me worked in the government
This isn't:
There is no sense in going on.
You have very good taste, Billie! I am an American Idol fan. I rooted for Taylor from the time I saw him. I think he’s terrific. My SIL gave me his C.D. on my birthday last year (2007.
“Wherever I lay my Hat” is on the C.D.
Gosh, you went to one of his concerts...WOW, wait until I tell my SIL...you lucky thing!
How thrilled and thankful I am in reading that both dogs are now back safe and sound. The news couldn’t have been any better! I have faith that prayer does help in these situations. I just can’t figure out where Daisy was that long. Someone may have been holding her and maybe had to let her go. Whatever, we are all happy and thankful!
Thats the only time I could eat a light bulb....!
Meg, I bet your critters love you as much as you love them. They are very smart little creatures and we can’t help but love them! I sat out some today and gee, had so much fun watching so much going on. The little chipmunks have gotten so brave coming under the bird feeder and eating along with the squirrels and all types of birds. If I sit still they will stay a long time. A sudden movement like standing up sends them scurrying 90 miles an hour!
Yeah, those letter thieves sit on my shoulder all the time!
;o)
We con’t have chipmunks..They are so cute! I know how much fun it is to watch them..I can’t say my raccoons “love me” They love my food ..and they trust me...mostly .Some still scurry away..but they come right back.
I hope you have an ‘excellent’ shopping day. I don’t go shopping much because I always buy something...I am weak when I shop~~LOL~~
