Oh oh... I'm talking to myself here... One name that I noticed is missing would belong to Buckethead. Now I'm not particularly a big fan of his style of music from his solo albums... I guess you could say that he's best known as a "thrash" player. But he's got some very interesting things that he's done with other players, like his work in Praxis with Bootsy Collins, and then there the stuff he did in Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains (Les, Buckethead, Bernie Warrell, and "Brain."

Though exceedingly weird, he's also quite talented and proficient.

Great minds, Ralph! That’s the BEST track to put on the car CD and break all land/speed records on a winding Wisconsin back road! :)
(Kids? Don’t try this until you’re at LEAST 45, LOL!)

At the risk of killing this thread, Michael Romeo of Symphony X. Good catch - that guy (and Symphony X) gets way less attention than he deserves.

He played the parts seen as being done by Ralph Machio in "Crossroads." The movie sort of sucked. But if you can find a soundtrack album from the movie, and you like or love blues, BUY IT! It's AWESOME!!!!! Correct on all counts. Though with age, Crossroads has grown on me as a "so-bad-it's-good" type film.

I'm a huge Rush fan... The first concert I ever went to was their Farewell to Kings tour. And once I saw them 3 times in 2 weeks! They'll be in KC in a week or two, but I can't justify $80 plus tickets. My brother and I just paid $400 each (StubHub) for seventh row center tickets to Rush in Concord, CA on 5/4. Worth every penny and then some.
Sometimes, ya just gotta bite the bullet...

I dont think I can see myself ever playing in that style. Theres no soul to it.
Exactly.. it's too mechanical, but fun to watch for a few minutes or so! :)
