Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac. Especially his performance in “Love in Store”.

Rush, and particularly Neal Peart, are at the top of their game playing Xanadu in Exit, Stage Left

One of the best displays of Stewart Copeland's abilities is in Every Little Thing She Does is Magic

A large group of extra percussion instruments was brought out for “Wrapped Around Your Finger”. The song was a completely different, slower-paced, more dramatic experience than the album original. It was incredible. Overall, one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Neither Stewart or Neil seem to be losing any ability with age!

So many great drummers, so little time...

Excellent. I have heard of Dream Theater but I’ve never purchased any of their music. Any suggestions for a first CD? Thanks!

Thanks for the ping! My favorite is the often overlooked Mike Derosier, original drummer for Heart. The guy can lay down a groove and really finesse the hi-hats. I'm a huge fan and admirer. I prefer groove players, like Derosier and Bonham, to the busy and/or technical guys like Peart and Moon.

Bun E. really knows his stuff. He's a huge collector and a down-to-earth guy. Ludwig Drums is featuring one of his snare drums each month. I'll be seeing him with Heart and Journey this summer, too!

I believe you are right on that one. Karen Carpenter got very sick of the drums right after that song.

The other day I discovered this gem from The Who, featuring great drum playing by Keith:
