Never experienced any problems of this nature with AVAST!

I’ve got a false hit on Super Anti Spyware with every anti-virus I’ve run. So much so that I deleted Super Anti Spyware from my system.

I just installed Avast, and it marked my Solarwinds TFTP server as being infected, as well as an old SQL Server cleaning tool that I downloaded a long time ago from Symantec as being infected.

While I don’t need that cleaning tool, I do use the tftp server. I guess I’ll download the latest and greatest (it’s free-ware) and see if it lets me install it.

Anti-virus software is becoming so bloated and inefficient, it is becoming a security risk itself. The situation will only get worse on Windows as the footprint of AV software continues to grow.
