So................ This one of 2 days a year that left-wing PBS viewers get to pretend that they actually like America, sort of.
Give me a break! This is a lame attempt on their part to assure that the $s they extract from our paychecks continue unabated while they make more than 300 million $s a year off of their Tickle-Me-Homo dolls and their other Gay marriage/Multicultural agenda indoctrination videos.
I'll take them seriously when Bill Moyers kills himself on air and Dora The Explorer gets a female circumcision to prove that all cultural traditions are equal.
Other than that I have no problem with PBS

Charles Durning in WW 2

Charles Durning now

*****

"The Greatest Generation"

Honoring Charles Durning and all WWII Veterans

"This year’s concert will recognize the immense contributions of World War II veterans and, in particular, honor distinguished actor, highly decorated WWII veteran and 14-year National Memorial Day Concert participant Charles Durning for his bravery and sacrifice as part of the “greatest generation.”

Charles Durning is a recipient of a Tony, Golden Globe and eight Emmy awards and two Oscar nominations for his work on stage and in film and television. This year, he also was honored with the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award. But it is his Silver Star and his three Purple Hearts that make him an exemplary member of the “greatest generation.”

He was in the first wave to land at Omaha Beach in Normandy. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was bayoneted eight times, captured and then escaped. He liberated the death camps, witnessing that profound, nearly unspeakable human tragedy. Yet he has shared his story on the National Memorial Day Concert because he says it is “so important not to forget, however painful.”

Oliver North is scheduled to do a C-Span BookTV talk *RIGHT NOW* (7:30pm eastern time) on his new book American Heroes. Having a relatively new FR membership, I cannot post 2 articles in one day, and I’ve already posted one. So if someone else would like to it, please do so. Note that it is scheduled to repeat at 1:30am ET.

One box of Kleenex may not be enough. Watching those three tell the story.....even Mr. Trimom needed the box.
