Its actually a very good mp3 player. The sound quality is as good, if not slightly better than the ipod. But the ipod still has the slickest design out there. The touch screen Ipod is just a beautiful design.

uSoft spent a fortune getting the latest Zune online and on schedule for Christmas last year. If this keeps up it’s going to hurt them. I say “good riddance”. They need to get out of a lot of stuff and start spending more effort making better software. Between the Zune and Vista they have laid a couple of eggs.

Most of that is due to the slightly better headphones (than the then-shipping iPods) that come with the Zune... but that’s easily remedied. The Zune also doesn’t have the universe of accessories or the world of connectivity that the iPod does.

I've still got one of those. I took the middle piece of the headband off, and put the ear pieces in my motorcycle helmet for a cross country trip. The Walkman was in my tank bag as was a good supply of tapes. Got quite adept at flipping/changing tapes with one hand. And it was great having tunes, especially on those wonderful scenic miles in Kansas.
(NOTE to Kansas) Good God people, could you please put a few bends, twists or curves in your roads? It's amazing that there aren't more accidents from people falling asleep at the wheel, traveling your flat, straight, boring interstates. ;-/

What you mean a video game store that sells only video games but too a chance on something else is getting rid of that something else? For shame.
Cheer all you want but pund for pound, iPhone and touch excluded, the Zune is far superior to my old iPod.

Well, we’ve been pushing to hike up the speed limit because of the flat, straightness.

Problem is... the iPod touch and iPhone *are* iPods, and that’s what the Zune is taking on, especially the new ones.

Pitching and doing are two different things. So get a zune, get DRM free songs or pay 15 a month for unlimited songs, built in HD FM tuner, superior sound, superior screen, superior overall player.
