As Shania Twain copes with her sudden split with the support of family and friends in her native Canada, sources close to the singer say she is reeling from a double betrayal – not only by her husband of 14 years, music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, but by a woman she considered a close friend.

Lange's relationship with Marie-Anne Thiébaud, 37, a longtime secretary and house manager at Twain and Lange's estate in Switzerland, was behind the breakup, say several sources familiar with the situation

While the report of the split continues to shock both Nashville and Hollywood Marie-Anne Thiébaud is speaking out and it appears that her basic message for the press at this time is “I’m no homewrecker!” According to a report from E! online she was reached by phone a her home in Switzerland and answered some questions.

She said she is not the cause for the break up and that couples split for ‘lots of reasons’. She told the network that it is complicated. People has the new snap here, and if the reports play out and are confirmed as true, it will make you wonder exactly what Robert “Mutt” Lange was thinking. For the record, Mutt has denied the adultery charge as well.
