What is he doing?
Not drilling in ANWR, a known reserve just waiting.
“Not reopening the 62 billion tons of environmentally safe low-sulfur clean coal in Utah.
Not opening the entire eas AND west coast to exploration and drilling.
Not assisting the technology to drill the Middle Bakken.
Not ordering the construction of 50 new nuke generation plants

But what is he doing? Why, he is telling us to “change our habits.”

BUSH doesn’t not have control of the things you are saying he does, those must be done by CONGRESS and then President approves or vetos. He has wanted to drill in ANWR, he has asked for exploration, drilling.
He has promoted New Nuke plants, and assisting technology.
Evidently there is some research into what the Executive branch, Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Bransh responsiblities, and limitations are, that is needed here.

Egypt and Middle east is rioting for food, and the Pres trip was a bargaining one. The ideal opportunity to say if we sell you food, then how about you’all pump some more oil. I don’t see that as begging.

“What's untrue?”

Just everything you stated, but don't let that stop you from making a fool out of yourself. Carry On!

"Certainly the Bush administration is in great need of the advice of a geo-political genius such as yourself. Why don’t you call them tomorrow and offer them your services? Then we can expect a massive increase in OPEC production in about a week, two tops."

Poor attempt to change the discussion to me.

The point is that rather than Bush even asking OPEC for increased production, he should have been using his limited authority and powerful voice to make a case to the American public about drilling, refineries, nuke plants, coal mining, etc. and thereby change the minds of Congress.

Instead, he embarasses me by holding hands with King Abdullah and getting a big fat NO, while maintaining the status quo. He was punked! Face it now or you will face it later as gas and everything else that uses pertroleum gets exceedingly expensive.

And furthermore:
It is dem congress wanting Polar Bears on endangered list, so no drilling in ANWR can take place.
It is dem congres that doesn’t want coal used as environmental issue.
It is dem congress who don’t want dangerous nuke plants.
It is dem congress who won’t allow drilling off the coast, or new exploration.
It is dems who pushed for no more refineries to be built.

WHAT IS BUSH DOING? Everything he possibly can with his hands tied behind his back by a USELESS DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS.

Yep. That would be really nice but unfortunately all he did was promise to hand over nuclear fuel. And all the oil he got is a drop or two. And bargaining for food exchange is a good idea. Too bad, he did not even bring it up.

Bush is the president and yes he damn sure could have done those very things. In the big picture, he has done nothing. Oh yea, we have a program to go to Mars. Woo-hoo.

That's exactly what he did and you're buddies in Congress voted him down. But don't let that stop you from spewing your hatred for President Bush.

NOW you are a Hillary or OBAMA shill, and your facts just don’t hold water. You have decided to come to FR to disgrace Bush and create dissension in ranks of FreeRepublic. NO FACTS JUST BASHING...and you have no government understanding of how the process works!

It was not a Dem majority until 2006. Let's see, when was George elected? How many YEARS did he have the majority?

" How ALL the failures are President Bush's fault remain a mystery to me."

They aren't, I realize that. He has had some successes.

However, regarding this energy issue, all Bush has done is to give lip service and bend to the will of the Congress. Yes, Congress writes the legislation, but if you recall the Executive Branch can also submit legislation for consideration. Plus, he lost his veto pen other than what, twice?

Like I said above, if he been more aware of the coming energy shortfall, as even us laymen could see, he could have made his case to the American populace. He didn't even try. Now we are facing a crisis of immense proportion. Just wait, you will think back to this article and realize our own President got punked and you will be paying for it and pissed off.

Bush has illustrated the point that we need to produce our own oil. Get the point?

ALL of your statement are DEMOCRATIC, so why aren’t you posting over at Huffington Post, where you would fit right in! This is a conservative forum, or at least it used to be. Did Obama send you?

Right. Voted for Bush both times. 100% Fredhead. Check my posts back as far as you like. They go back to the year 2000. But the facts are Bush and the gang BLEW IT. They had their chance and did not get the job done. You can pizz and moan, call names, make baseless accusations all you like.

It will not change a damn thing.

No, it won’t because you can’t see the “whole” pic, and who you voted for is irrelevant to the facts.
My facts are already posted, just read.

"Why don’t you go back to DU idiot."

Sorry, never been there.

What, you can't take the fact that our President went hat-in-hand to some backward terrorist supporting country asking for more oil? Time to face the facts. Our entire fedgov is screwed up and this is just the latest example.

Mark this thread. You will eventually read how much of the World is snickering or blatantly laughing at us for such a pitiful stunt...and I voted for the moron. And no, Mr. Bushfan, I'm not voting for Bush again, er, I mean McLame.
