Is your home functional, decorative, needs attention and somewhat tired or well maintained and modern?

This seems more like a gender thing. It's amazing what guys can put up with. Introduce a female and all heck breaks loose.

On the whole I would say that is true but as I said in my introduction I can tend to be like that and need a kick start such as the insurance claim to do something about it.

Mum on the other hand was not only the traditional women of liking things to match etc though because of money constraints furniture never matched in our household but decor such as paint, wallpapering and lampshades etc she always tried to budget allowing. She also was the practical one as dad can just about use a hammer but would not have a clue on actually how to put a shelf up prepare a wall for wall papering etc. My mum did the wiring of the plugs, painting, wall papering and also the traditional things such as the cooking and cleaning.

Hmmm .. I agree with what guys put up with .... I live in Early American Mess decor ... clean enough to be disease free and messy enough to be called home .... and retain floor heat in the winter (don't ask)

4 years as a widower .... if by some miracle my wife came back to life and walked in the door ... she'd turn around and get back in the elevator ... top floor.
