Arizona State University Cuts Cheerleading Squad After Racy Photos Surface on Blog

Arizona State University may have less cheerful sidelines at sporting events next season.

After racy photos of members of the university’s cheerleading squad were spotted on a campus blog called “The Dirty,” the school cut the squad completely, MyFOXPhoenix reported.

A few years ago, there was a big scandal either at AZ or ASU (I can't remember which), where a former cheerleader, wearing her official cheerleader uniform, performed in a hard core porno movie. The university wound up suing the video company over that.

That was just a bit more racy, but I can see why they'd be gunshy.

They werent abolished, the Fox story hasnt been updated since yesterday when AD Love came out and said that it was false and that they were changing departments that the squad would fall under.

The “Institute of higher learning” wants the cheerleaders selling it as part of the game ticket, not giving it away on the internet.

It never ends. Women are women’s worst enemies. Very sad especially since a lot of women speak about how strong and independent they are yet they do things like that to attract the attention of men. It’s really a pity I think. To be strong and independent you should be able to achieve things on your own merit and not racy photos. Oh well...that’s life I guess..

Actually, it WAS ASU, though it appears that a number of cheerleaders have “gone naughty.”

They are all pretty girls and don’t need to diet. Too bad their version of being pretty means to post nude or semi-nude pictures of themselves on the internet. Kinda stupid.

Now the general public knows that their cheerleaders wear fairly traditional ladies' undies when out of uniform.

Cheerleaders today are athletes as much as eye candy. Most of them have the muscular gymnast build, rather than the thin model build.

This isn’t about feminism or independence, this is about young women having fun on a Saturday night.

Seems to me the photographer has a lense setting that "stretches" the middle a bit ~ gives more umph to the chest region while leaving the faces fairly true to reality.

Which means the girls are probably less dumpy than their bottoms would suggest here.
