Years ago my family got a little kitten, my dog of the time was very affectionate, but we neglected your precaution and the dog picked her up, was too rough and the kitten didn't survive. We all (the dog included) were terribly upset.

I still say Ginger’s not a good name for that one, though. It’s just its color. And I think it may be a boy...

Off to church here, and then I get to goof off and drink coffee for a brief while until it warms up / dries out enough to deal with the *lawn*. I actually dreamed about that last night. Ungh.
That is too cute. :-) We have a year old blue Doberman whos best friend is one of our male barn cats. She will spot him across the yard and run like she’s going kill him, but when she gets to him she comes to a full stop and starts wagging her entire butt (because she’s happy to see him) and he purrs and rubs up against her and then they roll around and play. :-) It’s a sight! We’ve caught them napping on the back porch together in her box before! She even shares food with him...something she does NOT do with our Rat Terriers!
