We went to the mall this afternoon to pick up a wedding gift for Matthew’s associate choir director. Swung by American Eagle and found this pair of plaid shorts...Matthew wanted to try them on. So I found the smallest pair I could find, size 26, and off he went, like a bolt of lightening.
It took me a second not to blurt out “WHERE’S the BOYS dressing room???” I caught myself just in time to realize there was just one dressing room. I quickly assessed that all was on the up and up, but Matthew was already in a changing room...I couldn’t find him. So I started hollering “Matthew!”
This real tall well-dressed young man working in the dressing area said “I think he’s in here.” and knocks on the door and says “Matt! Dude! You in there??” I hear Matthew say “Yep” so I kicked back and waited.
Matthew walked out of that changing room and nearly took my breath away. There stood another slightly shorter well-dressed young man and I swear, I couldn’t breathe. He looked so so nice! Everyone looked to see why I was standing there so stunned and everyone agreed (even some young ladies waiting for a changing room) that he looked very nice.
I think the dressing room guy thought he’d made a sale for sure, but those shorts cost $44 and he underestimated my will-power.
I came home and immediately called my mom about them! Heh!
These next few years are gonna be so fun!
Clever girl! Isn't it fun to watch them get all grown up?
When I got home from MS, I found out that Joseph had bought a scooter on eBay. He and SirKit had found one over in Worcester. It looks a little the worse for wear, and it will need a new battery, but the thing was only $76! It's considered an electric bike, so he doesn't need a license, or a tag, to operate it!
He's looking around for replacement parts; it needs a new cowling, and a new box on the back. It was made in New Orleans, or at least it was sold there, so he's going to write his cousin to see if her husband, who grew up in New Orleans, might know someone who sold them, or a junkyard that might have some and we could buy some parts. He's so excited about it, but he still has two courses he needs to finish before the middle of July, so he's working hard on those, and doesn't have a whole lot of time to work on the scooter til then. He's happy he'll have a quick way of getting around campus!
