Was it the mosque thread? I was afraid that one would get nasty.
I saw one yesterday that was about Iowa versus Katrina and it was a little unbalanced but one poster said something about how “it wasn’t all of Iowa or all of Louisiana that flooded, it was Cedar Rapids and New Orleans”. Which just tells me how little anyone outside Iowa knows because it is not just Cedar Rapids but everywhere from Des Moines east.
Ignorance abounds even amongst the “educated conservatives.” This flood is bigger than Cedar Rapids. Katrina was bigger than the 9th Ward.
But really, the only comparisons need to be “how does America respond?”
That was ultimately what I learned from New Orleans. Not who f’ed up. But that there were still people hurting who needed help.
