Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Heh...
Glenn Beck is replaying 9/11 coverage. Apparently MSNBC is rerunning footage this morning (Keith Olberman is deeply saddened).
It’s chilling to hear some of these sounds again. But we need to.
And of course, I first learned about it all here on FR.
Me too. I didn’t even know what the World Trade Center was.
That was a hard day and it’s even harder thinking that anyone more than four years younger than me probably doesn’t have the same gut-wrenching memories. I was 18 and can remember so many details so clearly.
>>The local weather-guy’s latest best-guess track has it
going east of us, smack over Bryan-College Station.
Hmmm....
I think she should get a tee-shirt with Miss Piggy on it... It would be funny!
I grew up right in that area.
Well, I’m on standby and might actually head down there with disaster relief after the storm. The boys could stay with my folks, if they fare ok (in College Station).
Mrs. just emailed me and said the hawk that lives in our nayberhood spent a good deal of time on thedeck railing this morning. It was drivin’ Sam nuts but he didn’t bark until it flew away.
Here’s hopin’ we’re down a chipmunk or two...
I’ve got a few extra for ya.
Good boy, Sam!!
more animals
LOL!! Love it.
Before the rain started, I took Jackson back to his office, but he didn’t want to stay, and spent the morning on our porch. Right now, he’s sacked out on top of the computer desk, while Annie is sequestered in the bedroom.
I was going to put him out when I went to the grocery store, but he’s so sound asleep I’ll just leave him here. Hope I can get him back to the office before they leave this afternoon, otherwise, he’ll have to spend the night in the basement. I’m not having him out in these torrential rainstorms....
Heh. Maybe he’s got the afternoon off.
We watched all the MSNBC replay.
And been fighting the good fight (or trying to) against the liberals and conspiracy theorists over on the horse forum.
It’s amazing how many people still have a 9/10 attitude in a 9/12 world.
If so, it's the second day in a row. He was waiting on the sidewalk for OB when he came home from work last night. We had him in for a couple of hours during the rainstorm, but then he wanted to go out and ~cat around~. He was on the porch waiting for breakfast this morning, though.
He probably thinks he’s your cat now.
We noticed a pickup truck on our street last night with both a “9/11 was an inside job” and an “NRA Lifetime Member” sticker. Thought it was a little weird to have them on the same vehicle.
