The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

That rangefinder is cool, Winmag! It seems like a binocular on steroids.

Sitting here at church whilst Luke is auditioning for the Christmas show. A friend said "if they have a part for someone who marches to the beat of a different drummer, then that's for him."

So far, I'm remaining non-attached. But we got the word that a lot of the veteran leadership didn't show to audition. So far my clarifying things early seems to have worked.

So there's that...

Well, we're getting NO traffic today so we're quitting early. Come over and get some free stuff. Lamps - you said you could use lamps, right?

What do you think of blue? It's also smaller than we have now, but it looks comfy. It's really cheap. Dark Leather Loveseat

I think it’s a more cheerful color for a darkish room!

But could you guys AND Homer AND at least one other dog and a coupla cats all fit? ;-)

I’m still getting organized here...I’ll stop over in a hour or so. I could use some lamps, yeah...particularly since if I move things around, the tall lamp by the TV will need to be replaced by something that’ll sit on a table. And I have pretty much no lighting except the overhead light in the bedroom and office. In the winter, it’s nice to have some desk lights.

Already have a couple bites on the typewriters, so there’s that.

I really like thenewlittleguitar. It’s loud. And it smells good. Mmm...new spruce...

I think it’s too small, unless it had a nice big ottoman so we could put our feet up.

Can you come now and pick things we can set aside? We’re going to start packing up.

Cool, yes; steroids, no. It's just a tiny bit too big to fit in a shirt pocket.

I wasn’t talking about the size, I was talking about capability! More goodies in a smaller package!

I cleared a space for that desk and got the TV and all moved, so if there’s a time this afternoon when you’d have a minute to run those over...let me know! I’m gonna go to the last chance at 5:30, but I’ll be here until then. ;-)

I also have hot blackberry cobbler available. Sans ice cream or whipped cream, though. I runned out. :-\

And Tam is being a NUIsance, ‘cause the move uncovered two of his foam balls and he wants to play NOW. NOW! MORE!

Heh...when you were looking at couches, did you come across this set?

Just...wow. I’m trying to picture the decor that would actually go with.

Scary, that.

That is about the style we’d like... soft, comfy arms.

Heck, a few years ago, when I was having more parties, I’d have loved the orange. :~)
