The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

So...I just got home, and I swear, the landlord (or someone in the landlord’s van, with the wagon in back) was at the coffee stand, and there were dogs in the back of the van.

I’m confoosed. Either he’s got multiple personalities, or maybe one of his kids is working for him?

I mean...he’s not a dog person. For cryin’ out loud, the guy is terrified of *Cisco*. Cisco is about as scary as...I dunno...Odie.

I couldn’t see who was driving, though.

Intriguing. Kind of. I’m easily entertained.

Oh dear...I didn’t think about that!

Forty minutes to da big speech...listening to the other speakers. Michael Steele and Mitt were both good. I still don’t care for Huckabee. He’s funny, but he still rubs me the wrong way.

Really fired up crowd there tonight.

I just got home from choir and picked up with Mitt.

Huck had some good lines.

Yeah, he did.

I just always feel on-edge listening to him...like he may be about to say something really embarrassing. He’s like the folks in the religion forum who I agree with, but who I wish wouldn’t defend my faith ‘cause they do it in a really snarky way.

He didn’t do that tonight, admittedly. And I’m prolly overly sensitive.

Whur’s Rudy?

I don’t like him either and I’ve decided it’s because deep down, I don’t trust a man who leaves the pulpit for the campaign stump. Just don’t. It sends me a message about his priorities and his values that I don’t like.

Plus I don’t like feeling that they expect me to like a guy just because he says the right things about Jesus, while ignoring the fact that he’s basically a populist socialist.

Ugh, it’s only 9? I have no energy.

This is a great speech so far. At least she hasn’t tripped!

Kittens are sleeping it off after getting tutored today.

“A mayor is kind of like a community organizer, except at the end of the day you actually have real responsibilities.”

Love it!!!

She was awesome, I thought. Very clear, very down-to-earth, very likeable. And she did a good job of slamming the competition without stooping to their level. ;-)

Love her!

Yeah. It went OK. They were still pretty drunk when I got them home and then they crashed.

But then they woke up a bit and ate, and I was able to pet them, so maybe the whole thing didn't set us back too much. We'll see when they aren't still hung over!

Sarah Palin rocks!!!

The MSM doesn’t know quite how to respond. That’s okay. We’ll do it for them.

On one of the Virginia blogs this morning there was a diary cross posted from KOS. The person was talking about how her time organizing a college club to fight the “under God” phrase in the pledge was significant “experience” and how according to Sarah Palin it didn’t mean anything. After all her budget was probably what Mayor Palin’s was.

It’s GOVERNOR Palin honey.

Bless her heart.

She is awesome.

I’m really excited that there’s a real woman out there that I’d love to vote for President. Maybe it’s counting chickens early but...

Thinking I need a bumper sticker that says “Old Guy Who Won’t Run Again/PALIN” or something similar.

Heheh...bless her heart indeed....

It’s another day where I’m sooo pumped up for our side (for once), but have to work all day with liberals who will probably want to insult her. Fun.

What drives me up the wall is that they very rarely argue about substance. It’s all stuff like “Yeah. Bush is stoopid, isn’t he? And he’s a hick. Did I mention he’s stoopid? And ugly, too.” It’s moronic. But I don’t want to argue politics at work (especially as I know I’m lousy at it), so I have to sit there biting my tongue. They know I don’t agree, and more or less what I do believe, and that’s as far as I go. But...ungh.

Someone on another thread has created a “Maverick/Barracuda” sticker.

But I could be interested in a Palin/Jindal 2012 or 2016 sticker...
