The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

She was just so darn ~likeable~ in the speech today.

Tell me there's anything personally likeable in any RAT politician. Hillary sounded like she needed a couple of belts before giving her speech. It was presented in a grim monotone. What should have been Obama's greatest triumph to date showed him with a grim face, and a message that the serfs will be forced to toil for the greater collective glory of their new set of gods ensconced on the new Mt Olympus.

You can't have room in your soul for life and humor if you're a RAT. There's only room for the desire of power.

Absolutely agree. Phoniness just seems to come with the package for rats.

Just talked to my sister-in-law, who said the same thing. I think we’re all pretty fired up.

I spent the day with outspoken liberals (like the gal who goes all swoony whenever Bill Clinton is mentioned...”I just *love that man’s voice...”), so it was awful nice to talk to her for awhile!

That's the only way I've EVER heard her sound. Grating.

I was anxious to hear Sarah Palin speak today, because I knew that would be an important factor. She was great; forceful, but not haranguing, so she didn't sound like she was preaching at the crowd. It's a voice folks won't mind listening to for a few years, unlike that of Her Heinous. ;o)

How about the shrieking part, and the cackling?

Yeah, well those are grating, too. I just read on a thread about Rush's show today that he was saying that while Her Heinous reminds men of their first wives, Sarah makes them wish they were single, again. ;o)

it never ceases to amaze me how otherwise intelligent people I know can have so much rabid, incoherent hatred that turns them into drooling braindead morons...

As SirKit likes to say, "You don't need reason, when you have an ideology."

Other than Joe Lieberman, who was excommunicated from The Party, does any liberal come off as a mensch? Someone who can carry any ordinary conversation with someone about ordinary stuff? They come across more like a phony British aristocracy, here to direct the lives of the unwashed. They also lead un-ordinary lives where someone else gasses up (and pays for) the SUV, or Gulfstream 5.

The best part is that the entire Nuremberg-style convention of the RAT party, including their Parthenon, is now overshadowed by McCain's VP pick. The RATs were blind-sided, and can only rely on their rapid-response smear teams to throw sh!t against the wall, hoping something will stick.

I have to say again that the whole Palin announcement thing was masterfully played by the McCain campaign. It was brilliant.

You helped make history today. Reports are saying that McCain took in $3 million before 6 pm today.

Interwebs were painfully slow yesterday...

I think the final total for the campaign intake was $4 million.

I got the electric bill yesterday....I used 34% less electricity than August last year.

So now I have enough film to finish thesunroom.

Getting ready to leave here in a few for our second wedding of the summer. With another in September, another in October, turns out our theme for the year is Four Weddings and a Funeral...

Dang...that’s a big percentage, if the weather was similar both years.

I need something to keep warmth in...but I think the loss through the actual glass is the least of my worries. :-\

Having coffee and pancakes, and then I’m going to do a bunch of reorganizing and reading and writing. And mow the lawn. *sigh*

You could knit a big ol’ sweater for your house...

Lil’ probably has a pattern and a source for vinyl yarn.

Have fun. Right now we have wild kittens running around the room, and in a bit we’ll be going through frap trying to decide what to sell.

We put off the garage sale another week. We aren’t ready.
