You really must be tired! You didn’t even check in here!

Welcome home... Hope the cats are glad to see you. I looked in on them a couple times, but they weren’t really happy to see me. :~)

Your fish is fine.

Oh - and I have more kittens.

Did you ever find the other two? Or is it just the three?

Just the three. No sign of the other two. We did the best we could to look. They weren’t there. We’re hoping momma found them and moved them somewhere safe. Hopefully.

Well... A bit differnt weekend this time. I’d planned to stay up north and have Dad and D come up today to go down to the Center for Wooden Boats where the Nina is visiting for tours.

But D had an event friday with her brochitis that meant a trip to the hospital for her. She’s OK, they were afraid it was pnumonia, but it turned out not, and they let her just go home. But she was strictly forbidden to do anything strenuous, so the Nina trip was canceled.

I decided to just stay up here and do some needed cleanups and organization of stuff and mow the (tiny) yard. The yard may look small, but it fought back with a vengeance. Maybe only ten or fifteen minutes of wading into the two-foot tall grass and suddenly I can’t breathe. I dropped the weedwacker and ran into the house, doused my head and face in the sink, and changed clothes.

Shades of a prior time of a massive allergic reaction running the weedwhacker in heavy grass. It was kinda scary. Thought for a while about calling 911, but first I took some benedryl and just sat down for a while and slowly it started to clear.

Dang... Now the stupid yard is half cut down and I don’t dare finishing it without a syringe and some Epinephrine. :-)

I didn’t even dare going back out there until this morning, to put away the tools.

Yeesh. But I got the house all organized and clean. So there’s that. Not sure what to do about the yard.

Yikes. You might have to just hire a neighbor kid to mow it.

Is it only when it’s that tall you have a problem? Or any time?

It only seems to be the big stuff. I run the trimmer and mow at the beach all the time with no trouble. There must be something about the tall grass, maybe that its all seeded out or something. And its not just tromping around in it either but it seems to be something about slicey-dicing it and filling the air with it.

It was scary, I’ll admit. Not much more and I would’ve been looking at full on anaphalaxis, or whatever they call it. Maybe I should get ahold of an epi-pen just for good measure. Dunno.

Oh - and I have more kittens.

Oh dear...

Yeah, I really was tired. I literally never went to bed last night...and most nights this week I got about four hours sleep. ;-) I feel more human now that I've had a nap, though I'll still be ready for bed tonight, I think.

I have an awful lot of catching up to do, don't I? I'm sure I've missed stuff. And I guess I should get the fish at some point. Ungh...brain still not firing on all cylinders!

OK if I stop by in a bit for a sec?

Thanks sooooo much for taking care of the animals!

Dunno. Would be a good time to know somebody with goats. :-)

Then you’d have a cut lawn, but the whole place would smell like goats, ick.

Do you have a good mask you could use? I don’t have a bad reaction like you, but when the grass is long, I’ll wear a mask when cutting it, because otherwise I would have some difficulty breathing after a while.
