There are certain women AND men that should have their reproductive rights revoked, but I’m against abortion. I strongly believe that, unless you are some sort of sociopath and have no feelings, that every abortion leaves a woman scarred psychologically. Unfortunately, many women are so desparate to have a man in their lives that they are willing to abort their own flesh and blood to avoid the risk of losing a man. How sad!
I am a woman and I prefer a good beer rather than wine or any other kind of alcoholic beverage. The only problem is that I get tipsy after only one.
knarf, I’m very inclined to agree with what you say, about there being something “in the wiring” that predisposes one for or against something.
This is anecdotal, but I remember the first time I was given beer by my father (I think I must have been 4 or so, just given the can to sip) and while it was not for me, my younger brother took a sip and the attempted to finish off the can!
I also think that one can “acquire” a taste for beer, certainly that is the case for me, and I now prefer hardier or more flavorful beers if I’m having one (Beamish Stout, Newcastle Brown Ale for example, although if a hard cider is available that would be my first choice...unless I’m in the mood for whisky or bourbon)
Oh, it was truly epic to see that blank stare...put a smile on my face at the very least. :)
It may depend on your background. My Norwegian friend (and her Danish and Norwegian friends that I've met) has no problem drinking beer. At all. By the keg full.
On the other hand, I'm a little older and remember my mother telling me that women didn't drink beer. Even in college, I wasn't a beer drinker. I don't care for the taste and don't want to be considered a beer drinking woman. Yeah, that's probably an old fashioned mindset, but there ya go.
And I have never understood that. If it's me for example that they are worried about losing, a child on the way isn't going to cause me to skeedaddle. Maybe it's because I always had the thought in my mind that I would have kids of my own someday, but I would never run from that kind of awesome responsibility. Yeah, the circumstances certainly wouldn't be ideal, but I'd be irresponsible otherwise.
I hate to admit it, but I am a woman who has never appreciated the taste of beer. I can honestly say that I have tried to like it over the years, but I always end up ordering vodka or wine after the first glass or bottle of beer. I have always wanted to like it so any suggestions will be welcome.
I have noticed that a lot of the women my age have always told me that “beer is nasty”. And I do have to admit it’s an acquired taste. Nobody likes beer the first time they try it, but we get used to it somehow...:)
It's sold at a few grocery stores here, mainly because I live in Boise and it contains the word "Boise" in it. :) But other than that, it's very tasty if you want something that's not Budweiser or PBR or whatever it is us manly men drink pretty regularly. :)
Framboise(pronounced fram-bwahz’) means strawberry in French, and I draw the line at drinking strawberry flavored beer. It’s bad enough if I have one with a lime wedge in it!
Oops, I meant RASBERRY! So much for 3 years of high school French:-(
LOL, here in Idaho we don’t speak much French, so we just pronounced it “Fram-Boy-See” ;)
My mom didn’t like that aspect of the books either. But as a kid I found them really funny. Plus all the characters had some foibles. However, I can certainly see your point.
I suppose there really isn’t much of a difference when it comes to beer and putting either of them. :)
a)Don’t fruit the beer b)People actually drink Bud?
I’m beginning to prefer Mark Levin over Rush because of that.
Yeah, strange as it seems, people do drink Bud. I guess I shouldn’t really say anything however, I did get a 12 pack of PBR the other night, which isn’t a whole hell of a lot better.
I don’t really drink that much(and because of my physical size and what it does to my temperament, I shouldn’t do it at all)A bad habit I should break.
We don’t get Mark Levin here in Boise, and if we did I’d be at work anyway.
You can just listen online. That’s what I did before they added him to our local station WMMB.
