I looked at this huge old oak tree with limbs that would have made a stately tree if alone..and I looked at tiny little wildflowers so perfect in their beauty...An awesome day.

Mexican Hats (cone flowers)are the flowers you posted last Sunday..There were lots of those and the yellow ones like them..I was humbled by my lack of wildflower ID knowledge, though, and trying to look them up at home was minimally successful.

There were a few red poppies that really looked stunning in with the rest of the field..I was puzzled and looked it up...Seems red “corn poppies” have long ago escaped home flowerbeds and naturalized.

BTW, you can rest easy, you didn't miss my birthday. It isn't until October 1st. ;-)

Today I saw the river,a lovely garden, flowers,both wild and cultivated, heard birds singing, and saw magnificent trees.

Oh, it sounds like you had a perfectly lovely birthday, communing with God's magnificent creations. Who could ask for more than that?

Sorry about your trouble yesterday. I am sure no one worried because they hadn’t gotten an answer. We can’t always get everyone the first day anyway!

It has taken me off and on 3 hours to get on F. R. today. I could get to the home page and couldn’t get to Latest Posts. I tried a million times but could not get F. R. to move. I gave up a while and just now made it back on! Very frustrating!!

Hope your birthday was good, anyway!

Thank you so much, jaycee. I do feel better today. Everyone has off days. I guess yesterday was just one of mine. I think it is God’s way of telling us to slow down and rest a bit. :-)

Meg, I will never understand this “thing” about the bluebird and the wrens. I do know my bluebirds were so precious and hard little workers. If you want to know the truth it broke my heart BUT I must not worry about things I can’t change! I got tears in my eyes just telling you!

I have to do some paper work today so I have to get my thinking cap on. Just filled the bird feeders and my birds are happy...I adore the little yellow finches!

Thank you...! Glad you’re better. Yes, we all have those down days and sometimes just days we must do things! I am getting ready now to do some paper work and I need to go get some plants. I may go this afternoon or early in the morning. I have a special little ‘hot house’ I visit every year. I get everything I want and don’t have to hunt other places.

I have house finches but not Goldfinches..I have no idea why they don’t come here...My daughter has lots of them and they are precious...I need to do paper work, grocery shopping and house cleaning..and I am on the computer..LOL

The Warrior

The Warrior isn’t all fight,
There’s more to him than that.
They’re brothers, fathers, husbands,
When they aren’t in combat.
Men train to fight when need be,
But once they were just boys.
Now they carry weapons tight,
But they still miss their toys.
The fight requires their focus,
They take it all in stride.
Pray for them as they protect,
And pray for those who’ve died.
To them we owe our freedom,
They put it on the line.
