I’ve been on Vista and SP1 for months now and have no complaints. I am a software engineer by trade and heavy end user ( sorry no gaming BS ) so I cannot quite get the beef. Vista works fine once you turn off the unnecessary overhead junk and learn how to use it.

I have a question for you, then--I'm running Vista 64-bit with SP1. How do I install VMware Server so it will access the local host?

I don’t know what “overhead” junk you are referring to. My Vista worked great until SP1. I had to uninstall the SP1 and now it works again.
