I noticed that the states Reagan carried were already red.

I thought that until 2004 the incumbent party was blue and the challenger was red. Only after the 2000 election did each party become with a specific color.

Thank you!
Thank you, for that brief return to a better, simpler time...away from all the political correctness and mean-spiritness of today.
It truly was Morning in America, before Al-Qaeda, green politics and creeping socialism. Would that another Ronald Reagan could rise up to return us to the greatness that this country was.
I fear the Walter Mondales of the world (now in the guise of DailyKos, Huffington Post, Air America etc.) have finally worn us down, and won the day.
I’m 48 years old. Will I ever see America so great again?

In 1982 president Reagan made a speech asking for limitation of excessive government. after the speech Dan Rather, Bill Moyers and Bob schieffer made what amounted to the Dem response. So vicious, petty and partisan were they that I said I would not watch CBS news as long as Dan and bill were on it. I have stayed true to that even though both of them are long gone. But, I did violate that promise just to watch Dan Rather squirm on election night 1984 and 1994. it was wonderful. Judging from the ratings a lot of other people made the same decision.

1984 was my first election and I remembered that day voting for Reagan, a vote that I was enthusiastic about. Since then, I have not been enthusiastic about who was running since most of the picked were establishment types. Reagan was not East Coast Establishment type.

Thanks for posting! Rather must’ve HATED having to say those words. He probably walked away from the desk at break and beat his head against a wall.
Ronnie, I miss you so.

It is kinda sad that the only joy we have in this election cycle is to be nostalgic about past victories.... Not a good sign.
