Yeah, but Jake is a no-risk pick. If you’re spending that much money, it’s good to know for certain he’ll be worth the money paid to a Top 5 pick even if he’s not worth more than that. He doesn’t have any upside. He is what you think he is, and that’s pretty damn good. No one will say Tuna was a bonehead for thinking Jake was a NFL OL talent after a few years of perspective.

Parcells refused to draft someone who wasn’t under contract on Draft Day. Your idea to let the time pass on the 1st pick to try to save money eliminates that possibility. And, Russell last year made more than Long will this year, so Miami is saving money already, and, thus, no need to get cute.

I think Miami should have traded down and stockpiled picks but that’s just me.

Miami wanted to trade down and offered to do so.

However, there were no takers as the price tag that comes with the Number One pick was not worth the talent available in this year's crop.

Apr. 01, 2008 ... Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga indicated Monday that teams do not appear interested in trading for Miami's No. 1 overall draft pick .... Huizenga said the way this draft is evolving, ``the top four or five picks -- a lot of teams aren't willing to spend the money to move up. This is one of those off years where no team really wants to move up.'' .... Last year's No. 1 draft pick, JaMarcus Russell, got a contract from Oakland that included $31.5 million in guaranteed money.

Adam Schefter reports that the Ravens are buying into the rumors circulating (true or not) that the Falcons will take Matt Ryan over Dorsey and want to get the #2 spot from the Rams to take Ryan at #2 before the Falcons.

This is starting to sound like a soap opera.

39. Brady Leaf-- yes, who you think he's the brother of

I've felt sorry for Brady, since he went to Oregon as a drop-back style quarterback, and Oregon converted to the spread option. He's not much of a runner, and then got stuck behind Dennis Dixon.

I think that if Oregon had stayed with their old offense, Brady could have been a good Pac 10 quarterback, possibly better than Alex Brink. As it is, i doubt he'll get a chance to play pro football.

Buddy of mine just heard on the radio that the Raiders are going to take McFadden at #4 for sure.

I have no idea why I thought he was a QB prospect. I guess I haven’t woken up, yet.

Just curious...what does everyone think about the idea floated to move the entire first round to a Friday night?

I have been a KC fan most of my life and last season was one of the most humiliating ever...

How do you like Herm as HC?
