I am saying this as a woman: I can’t believe women get so upset and jerked out to shape when their spouses forget their birthday. It is so unnecessary and a waist of time, energy, and emotion.
Ladies, try some of these ideas a couple of days before that birthday by annoucing to your spouse:
1. My birthday is in a couple of days, the 11th, and I have booked us a trip around the world as a celebration.
2. My birthday is in a couple of days, the 11th, and you have on order for me (name a very expensive car) to be delivered on that date.
3. My birthday is in a couple of days, the 11th, and I have set aside $20,000 of the most beautiful jewelry at (name your jewelry store). It is waiting for you to pick it up for me. You will love it.
4. My birthday is in a couple of days, the 11th, and I have chosen a couple of full-length fur coats. Here are the photos. Do you like the mink or the Chinchilla? Hmmmm…maybe I will take both. How does that sound?
Etc.
Ladies. Quit feeling sorry for yourselves. You will avoid getting your feelings hurt (which you will tell the world for the rest of your life) and you will avoid a stupid fight on your birthday.

By the way, since I live in the Rep of Panama, we get some great Cuban rum directly from Cuba. It may be the only good thing left they export.
Oh wait! I’m wrong! For you cigar lovers, we also get their cigars.
Good time to celebrate. Wednesday, the 16th, was my birthday and I’m a perpetual 22 like Jack Benny was 39. Yeehaw!
