Actually, there’s a better way to do it AND maintain backwards compatibility, but I’m not going to give Microsoft any ideas for free.

I will drop a hint, though. Microsoft should give up on any pretense of in-current-version support of legacy applications and force them to run in a sandbox - like the OS X/Classic relationship.

Exactly, they could acquire Parallels which lets XP app run in a window. not to hard technically to offer this on a RHT/Aero platform.

The basic problem with MS trying to become a NEW OS is that the physical PC boxes are CRAP and not even powerful enough to run vista, let alone two OSs at the same time and one of then a VM.

This is where Apple will be proven right: He who makes the hardware AND the software, wins.

Seems like I read somewhere that either MS or google was working on a future operating system that would not be installed on your computer(or maybe partially installed on your computer), it would be on the internet somewhere and your computer wouldn’t function without highspeed internet connection.

What ever happened to that? Or do I have it completely wrong? Personally, I hope it never happens.
