Rush Limbaugh forever ruined the joy of tax refunds for me, by pointing out that that’s just my money I overpaid the government, that it’s kept and used all this time, and only grudgingly sends back because I can prove they shouldn’t have it.
It isn’t like I bargained my way into a great deal.

might i add that the government has your money as an interest-free loan?
if you had that money the entire year, you could stick it in the bank and at least break even with inflation. but the government has it, so your money is actually worth LESS when you get it back than it was when the government took it!
just thought i’d brighten your day a little...
In an ideal world, your very existence would be proof that the government shouldn’t have ANY of your money, but we have to deal with reality, unfortunately.
