An embarrassing problem

Ladies and gents,
I have a problem. I've posted here for years, and I've let it slide until now. I should have asked these questions before, but I was too lazy/indifferent to bother. Anyway, it's gotten to the point where I can't take it anymore. I can't post pictures. I can't italicize the text that I want to respond to. I can't post links. I can't post text in different colors or fonts. I've tried tinkering with the settings on Free Republic. I've tried tinkering with my web browser. Can someone out there give me an idiot-proof explaination of what I can do to remedy this problem. I'll be forever greatful. Heck, I may even send a small donation to FR in your name. Just...please...help me.

For that image, you need:
<img src= http://www.syvjoneshouse.com/UploadFiles/Kara&Gov.Wilson.jpg>
Again, copy and paste the above. It too will work.
I suspect you might have added the quotation marks that others have suggested (which would have been ok) and then added a space character before the second closing quotation mark (which would not work).
That is, did you enter:
<img src= "http://www.syvjoneshouse.com/UploadFiles/Kara&Gov.Wilson.jpg ">
If you did, that won't work. That space after the characters
jpg is an error.
Just leave the quotation marks " out; they will cause you more grief than they help, in most cases.

You really can leave out those quotation marks, but it's ok with them, if you don't let any spaces creep in to the wrong places.

Any relation to the Crosby of "Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young" fame? Nope, he is Kenny Loggins son, named after Bing Crosby. But David Crosby may think he inspired the name.
Crosby is a good friend of ours and is has a new album climbing up the charts. He is starring in MTV's new show Rock the Cradle. A bunch of celebrity offspring compete American Idol style. It is really fun to watch and of course we are rooting for Crosby.
