Jim, does the ibuprofen help? My friend was given an RX for a dose triple that from over the counter. It made her violently ill - headache and extreme nausea.
I know the docs are very reticent to give pain killers to patients - but I don’t think anyone should have to suffer major pain, as you do (and my friend).
There are so many different medications available, today.
Does a heated mattress pad or heating pad help at all? It helps my friend immensely.
If my chicken soup would help, I would send you a large pot every week (Overnight it on dry ice). It IS addictive, but you wouldn’t need a prescription.
I am sending arrow prayers up to Heaven constantly, for you and your bride, to get past this rough time.
My cousin told me about this thread, and I’ve had you in my prayers since then. Thanks to Kathy for the ping with a link, I got the update. Sending up some big time prayers.
Is that what you are taking for pain? That is interesting because jk had a dental procedure a couple days ago and his dentist, rather than sending him home with a prescription for a narcotic pain medication, told him to take two 500 mg Tylenol (or acetaminophen) together with three 200 mg Motrin (or Ibuprofen) every 4 to 6 hours for pain. He said that it works just as well as a narcotic and has none of the side effects. Jk says that combination seems to be working well for him - (although, I actually think he would have preferred a prescription for percocet. LOL.) ;-)
I'm off to bed cause it's late. God bless and keep you all in His care.
The VA doctor I saw on my first visit there a couple weeks ago sent me home with a bottle of 800mg ibuprofen tablets. They seem to be working fairly well taking one capsule every four to six hours. No side affects so far. Before that I was taking 2 Advil tablets every three or four hours. I think they’re each the equivalent of 200mg of ibuprofen.
It’s very late. You should be in bed. Good night, sleep tight. :-)
Good. I am so glad they are working well for you. It's impossible to rest if you are in chronic pain.
I reckon.
Get well, keep fighting.
But . . . I do have prayers for you, your family, your doctors and medical staff and the VA Hospital.
You are an inspiration to so many. Kick back in that recliner and take the Ibuprofen. Prayers for a positive report on Tuesday. We need you back on the corner of Blackstone and Shaw.
Thank you for the ping, I didn’t know Jim Robinson was sick.
Prayers for him and his family.
We need you Jim!!!!!
And we LOVE you.
((For you first loved us, by including us in your vision of a Free Republic!!))
What a revoltin' development this is. :0)
Glad to hear the meds and recliner are relieving your pain.
I've been talkin' with my friend, The Great Physician, and he'll be working on your case personally.
Prayers coming from down south, Jim. We may not say it enough, but we all love you dearly! Besides, we need you fit and well so you can continue to lead us in battle.
((((hugs))))
Lord God, You alone are King! There is no other God like You! You are Redeemer, Sanctifier, Dwelling Place and Refuge. You are all love which manifests in grace and mercy and all truth. There is no one we love like You! Lord God, You also have all power. You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord our Healer. Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Your entire purpose is restoration. Your primary focus is on restoring us to You for eternity (all who will come through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord), however, You also love us so much that You come and heal us while we are still in our physical bodies when it is in conformity with Your perfect will. Jesus, You love the intercessors for they pray for others, just as You pray for others while seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven. So Father, Son and Holy Spirit hear the prayer of all of us here at Free Republic on behalf of Jim. Lord God, this wasting disease is NOT of You!!! You are life! Send Your Spirit to where Jim is right now (in the recliner?)and meet him there. By the increase of Your manifest presence brought forth by our worship of You as one true God, pour out Your healing power on Him NOW. The wasting, oozing and infection stops NOW, in Jesus’ name. In Jesus’ name, any efforts by the enemy to effect this man’s legs stops now in Jesus’ name. Jehovah Rapha hear our prayers and send ministering angels to apply the healing balm of Your Precious Blood. In Jesus’ name, this illness/infection is forbidden to progress further. It is declared null and void and the healing process begun. Day by day Lord restore His skin and circulation. We thank You, Lord God for what You will do. Oh, Lord God, what a story this will make. The doctors will not understand it and YOU will get the glory! Lord God, we promise to stay in prayer before Your throne until this healing work is done. Thank you Father for what You have done and for what You are doing - both that which we see and that which do not. WE TRUST IN YOU! In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen
Thanks, so much, for the ping, patriciaruth.
We NEED you, Jim Robinson, so I am going to be praying like crazy! You take good care of you, and take as much comfort as you possibly can from all of the “good thoughts” coming from your friends at Free Republic!
Get well soon!
Prayers up, Sir.
Good night, Jim......I’m happy to read that your recliner arrived...We all PRAY that it gives you some relief.
We all feel HORRIBLE that this has been going on for so long, and not a peep out of you...
God Bless you, Jim.
God bless, and remember...God does provide miracles everyday.
I am happy that the recliner arrived yesterday afternoon and is already being used by you. I hope that the recliner will help you.
Jim, may I ask you -- is there anyone there to help you? You don't need to answer, but the Doctor can put you in touch with a Social Worker. They have lists of many people that can help with many things from doing laundry, cooking, light housekeeping, help with baths, shopping (or Safeway delivers) or just visiting (but you got Free Republic for visiting *s*).
Well, I do hope that the recliner will help you to feel better -- I will keep you in my prayers.
Just seeing this - prayers up
