I don't know about manipulation, but I do know someone who got into the habit of embellishing a story just to make it seem a little more glorious, or extreme, or special. Then, they couldn't stop telling those stories and would also adapt someone else's story into their own. It continued and excalated their entire life. By the time this person died, no one believed them on any detail they shared. It was sad. I don't think that person ever caught on that they were lying. It was a horrible habit. That person also did not need to embellish their life. It was amazing enough with the bare facts.
I was kinda hoping Toby would show up. big sigh.
I am on my way to bed now. It has been a long night and I am tired. Earlier today (about 1300) I got a call from a young man who has sort of “adopted” hubby and I as not quite parents. Anyway, he had taken his real dad to the hospital and the doctors had told them the situation was extreme. Then about 15 minutes later he called me back. His dad had passed away.
We were at the first of many services tonight. It will keep me busy for the next several (maybe 4 of 5) days.
