My ears pricked up when I heard that comment from General Hayden yesterday. He is not known to be hysterical.

On the Sunday talk thread, Alas Babylon said he had served under him, and that he was smart but a cold fish. That tells me the guy is reliable.

You know, Dog, for years I have argued with the people who wanted no searching of anyone but Muslims. It seems that I was right.

Hello everybody! I couldn’t get on FR all morning, guess it was down maybe. My, how ingrained I am to that early morning run of the news here. And checking in with ATRW too, of course.

Mr. Prairie has been telling me for three weeks that he thought he was catching a cold and by golly, I think he’s finally accomplished it! Anyway, he’s coughing and sneezing, achy, the works.

We were invited over to the neighbors last night to place “Horse Race”. It’s a very simply game of cards and dice and we played with dimes and nickles. It’s a lot of fun actually and I’m going to try and get one of the boards over at the flea market if I can get over there tomorrow.

Hi I haven't been able to get on all morning either! Tells me we need to share home email addresses or device a way of meeting somepplace if this site ever goes down permanently.

I can't bear the thought of my ATRW friends not talking with me. Any more news on Toby?

lysie, I am glad you are thinking of getting yourself and Greg checkedout for sleep apnea. The doctors told Ed you don't die of it, rather the effects it has on other parts of the body. Ed is sure he would not have lived without the resolution we found with the machine. My cousin also uses one, and Dad is convinced it is probably something my brother suffered from when he was here with us.

That’s me too. I take my vitamin/mineral, cinnamon, gluclosmine (triple). If I’m awake 30 seconds after my head hits the pillow, I’ve had a bad night. I sleep until I’m finished. I usually sleep 5 to 6 maybe 7 hours. For this old girl, I have a lot of energy. I read a lot while Roomey, my sleeping beauty, sleeps until 0900 or so, sometimes longer. My back and butt gets tired if I’m in bed too long. But that’s just me.

Mr. Prairie uses a C-PAP machine as well. He grudgingly admits he probably sleeps a more restful sleep using it.

He isn’t crazy about it, but he mostly uses it.

Have been too busy to get on until tonight. I have obstructive sleep apnea. I have a CPAP machine. The most dramatic thing I was aware of the very first time I slept with the machine running was that I had extremely colorful, vivid dreams. I only dreamed a few times a year because I wasn't entering REM sleep. With the CPAP, I dream constantly. I will say that I rarely sleep with the machine running nowadays because I got real tired of the machine and I dream vividly most nights without it. I think that the therapy with the machine for some months sort of corrected the problem to where I don't use the mask much anymore.

I went to a nasal pillow mask and I like it much better.

H.O.B., glad to hear Mr. H.O.B. is having good results with his machine!

My only experience with sleep apnea is 2nd hand - my stepfather had it. Went on the machine too. I don’t know how anyone can sleep with that noise and mask. I suppose one adjusts.

It’s really scary to think of all the oxygen NOT getting to the brain w/o it.

Mr. Snarly fell and broke his nose, so he uses the Breathe Right strips and loves them.

Did you have some strong winds today. We sure have. It’s been humid up here too and about 70 degrees.

Morning quotes:

In her own words......

The only way to make a difference is to acquire power”
-Hillary Clinton to a friend before starting law school

We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society
-Hillary as first lady.

We just can’t trust the American people to make those types of choices.... Government has to make those choices for people
-Hillary to Rep. Dennis Hastert in 1993 discussing her health care plan.

great quotes, Rav.

No snow here (or at home) Just lots of thunder, lightning and perhaps a half inch of rain.
