Any Dxer's Or HAMS out there interested in opening a Dxer Forum?
I'm new to this stuff and could use some FRiends to surf the waves with.
Lot of R390 folks still out there.
Where can you get tubes? Many of them are unique.
The current limiter comes to mind. Where would you get a replacement part?
Yes, he was an adviser to the Laotian Army and Air Force. In the begining of the program he and about 20 other Ex-Military were recuited by the State Dept. They supplied the Lao through the State Dept. USAID. He was in the Marines for 25 years and worked in Laos for ten years after that. He passed away 16 months ago at 89.
I have the 1103 with the Degen name on it, as given in the wiki. I generally find the long wire on the roof is superior in terms of signal strength (not surprising), but the active loop is definitely fun to play with and certainly will cut out the off-axis interference! I am not a ham, just play around.
I love this little thing!
Where did you buy the degen? I have a friend in vietnam who needs that 220 ver.
Thanks
I am using the long wire currently. Other times the active loop works best to shut out unwanted interference.
This little thing is giving me the local college stations too!
I did get an English translation of the Chinese Degen manual (offered by the seller in HK). Some functions at least on the Chinese version would have been a little obscure without it.
Looks like that is a list of sites that sell used items. Which is ok. Good start.
eBay. Rad and loop were about $55 but that was a couple years ago.
About all I remember is CQ,CQ,CQ. Oh and to key the mic button.
Just switched to Active loop. Bang! All interference gone.
Got K4EU up http://www.k3lp.com/fs5uq.htm clear as a bell
Excellent!
Yeah the tertiary functions like Alarms and such aremt all that clear. I like that I can set time in UTC
I’ll play.
The degen is 220 isnt it?
Yes, it is inherently 220 but came with the 110/220 piggyback adapters.
Woohoo! More Geeks! L0L
Now who is gonna run this thing?
I just dont have the organizational skills to pull it off
Really? Thats a lot of bang for the buck!
I paid like 100 for the kaito and 3 antennas, headphones, rechargable batterys, ps and carry pouch.
No 220 ability provided.
The Degen sounds like a winner. Skeery what these chinese are making. The thing is hand tuned at the factory. A lot of work went into this little receiver
I will try to find one if these. Thanks
I want the brother in India
