Microsoft really screwed the pooch with Vista. I guess this PROVES that we need more H1B visas, right? Or were those the folks that messed this up in the first place?

The more I read about Vista, the more I believe the theory that Vista is meant to get people onto Windows 7 as fast as possible when it comes out—just like ME got people off of Windows 98 and its codebase.

Anyone who buys a PC nowdays that does not have 100% Vist-compatible hardware is asking for trouble. I built my latest PC, and have had NO TROUBLE with hardware OR drivers. But I’m not quite sure I’m ready to install SP1 yet ... :)

It’s a pity they didn’t just keep on improving W2K. I still use it in my image-processing computer and it works very well. But it’s my last MS OS.

But its my last MS OS.I feel the same way- dam, I hate to have to teach myself another OS, but I figure when Win2K gets too long in the tooth, we will switch all the home machines to Linux.

I am still running Windows XP Pro and was able to download the SP1 without any problems. It is a stand-alone .exe file that can be burned onto a CD. I got it just in case of a weak moment when I wanted to try Vista on one of my computers that works fine with Windows XP Pro. Does anyone have anything good to say about Vista after SP1?

Does anyone have anything good to say about Vista after SP1? Only in the limited instances outlined in this article. If I were you, though, I would not go to Vista if your computer is currently working. There is no reason to change the OS if you are not having any issues.

Daughter in law won a new laptop complete with Vista.Having a low budget and wanting a laptop, she was willing to sell.[Around 600 bucks].I was initially interested, but the Windows Vista that came with it turned me off.My offer,400 bucks. She said she had offers for such and such, whereby I decided,Nah.
She sold it for 200 bucks and was glad to get that.{Of course she wanted me to believe she got 700 bucks!!I knew the person who bought it and hates vista and will forever!Boy,did I dodge a bullet!
