Arranging the Funeral Pyre For the Neoconservative Movement

At some point in the very near future, the neoconservative moment will cease to exist and conservatism as we know it today will be relegated to the political fringe. The movement's ultimate demise isn't due to its inherent flaws, however (although it has many), but rather from Mother Nature's less poetic spouse, Father Time. The neoconservative moment is going to die of old age within the next quarter century. This is inevitable (and its not like Mr. Rove and Mr. Cheney are in great shape either).
So the question now becomes, what takes over as the main rival to American liberalism? What rises from the ashes of the Bush Doctrine?

I’m sure the fine folks at the National Education Association have also thought about this.

Anytime I see someone use the term “neocon” my first reaction is, “define neocon.”
Most of these twits don’t have a clue.

What the fudge! These leftist are all so happy these days. Just wait to the democrat convention of ‘68 redux in august. They won't have the time to write ridiculous articles, they'll be spending too much time in therapy.

My 16 yr old grandaughter is very conservative and there are a lot more like her waiting to vote for the first time. She understands conservatism and liberalism very well. I expect they will carry on after we’re gone. One more thing, she learned it from her mother, my daughter, who learned it from me.

"define neocon" Not a paleocon! The problem is, preTaft PaleoCons call Goldwater Republicans (Reagan) and NeoCons (Bush/McCain) all neocons. Goldwater Republicans call just NeoCons (Bush/McCain) NeoCons and PreTaft PaleoCons, PaleoCons. Basically, the further Paleo you get, everyone who is from a movement newer is labeled Neo, even the most Conservative Goldwater Republicans.
