Umm, ok, my mother who is 72 has never had to touch the command line interface in the three years she's been running a Linux desktop.

You are making your Mom run Linux? That's just downright mean, but the fact that she is going along with it proves how much she loves her children.

I gave my kids (aged 10 and 6 at the time) their own user names and passwords on my linux box, then left them alone.

They don't touch the Windows box much anymore.

Now my wife is using the Linux tower more and more, and relegating Windows to just one or two games. Maybe it's time I converted that old P2 to a DSL (or Puppy) machine...
